This has been our favorite Joshua Tree campground so far. If you come in from the west side of the park you get to drive through most of the park before arriving to camp. You know when you are coming up to it when you see the giant boulders on the horizon. The campground definitely live up to it’s name! The grounds were nice and clean clean. There tons of rocks to play on all walking distance from any campsite. Our spot was quite large so lots of room to set up and play games. There were a surprising amount of small furry creatures running around at night and in the early morning hours. So if you wake up quietly you can enjoy their presence. Being in and around the rocks makes for the ultimate Jtree experience. Still very very hot in September so bring plenty of water!! More than you think you will need!
