Good experience

I love the campsites at this state park, they're decently big and each site is surrounded by trees. The sites are a little close together but all in all we really enjoyed our stay. Keep in mind there are only pit toilets and a water pump in the way of utilities. We also did have to drive to a gas station anytime we needed extra supplies. But there's plenty to do with the lake, beach area, volleyball court and the river close by. If you are prepared and know what you're getting into, you can have a wonderful camping trip at Newaygo State Park.

Nice sites, be prepared to be in nature

I camped here many a times as a child. The sites are nice and there are natural divides between each campsite. You are in the middle of the woods so you must be prepared for insects and small animals. There's lots to do such as kayaking, hiking, bike trails. The small beach is often fairly crowded on nice days. Great, family friendly place.

Pretty views but small park

The campground is quite small and the sites are all clustered together in one big open area. There is no privacy between campsites. The trails are nice and the falls are beautiful but there's no real place to get lost in nature. It is clean and a good family friendly place for a short trip.
