Ground Zero

Hot. Came in mid August. But so many trees blocked all wind from ocean. If you do not book early could be stuck in one of the many sites sitting directly next to swampy waters. Or looking at fence for military base undergoing construction. Be prepared for bugels and national anthem every morning at 0 800 hours. The beating blades of helicopters at 11pm adds a nice ambiance with the million frogs as well when in deep slumber. I give it 2 stars as the nature center is very nice and has great shows for kiddos. Showers and bathrooms very clean and water is hot. Beach area very nice and peaceful but could be long hike if you get outer site. Have something to haul your gear and kids. Overall, if you are lucky to get one of the very few good sites available would look elsewhere. Maybe off season and when military base moves…..
