Adirondack mountain reccs

it’s turns out that the adriondacks are known for more than their chairs. what are the best lakes and campgrounds in the area? thanks in advance

I’m a huge fan of Stillwater Reservoir, almost all of it needs to be accessed by boat (canoe etc), Free! tons of sites, most have a privy, have to bring your own water.
After July 4th the bugs are not bad.
There are tons more depending on your level of comfort.

We are very fond of two NYS Park campgrounds. Eighth Lake, which is actually between 7th and 8th Lakes and not far from the fun small community of Inlet, like for ice cream or groceries. There are some campsites on the water. And Brown Tract Pond for a more remote yet accessible experience. Also some sites on the water. This would be a good place to start to get info. They use Reserve America to make reservations

I haven’t gone myself, but some good friends of mine just got back from staying at the KOA Lake Placid/Whiteface, and they said it was really great there, with a lot of options ranging from tent sites to glamping/cabins.
