Beautiful Spots on the River

Beautiful easy to access spots right next to the river. The current was too swift for swimming g while we were there but that may change later in the summer. The was was too chilly for me in any case.

The sites do not have have power or water or sewer hookups. There is a dump station and water…

Nice campground

It's everything you expect from a KOA. Nothing missed. Had a windstorm during the stay, tent campers were put up in the game room.

My new favorite campsite!!!

First come, first serve. We were right next to the creek. Pull through spot. Vault toilets. No hookups. Small campground. 10 spacious sites. We couldn’t hear anybody at any other site. Felt very comfortable. Cooked over the open fire. Hard sided campers only due to grizzlies. We never saw one…

Sweet Campground for Tents

We were so lucky to find this campground! It is a perfect base camp for exploring the east entrance to Yellowstone Nat'l Park. We were looking for a tent camping site & found exactly what we wanted in the lower loop sites #38 & 37. These are RV sites without hookups ($30/night). These sites…

Camping in Yellowstone at Bridge Bay Campround

Covid restrictions were tight in August of 2020 so not many of the Yellowstone campgrounds were open.  We were lucky to get a space that someone had cancelled on.  Don't give up until your last day to check for availability as there are always cancellations.  We arrived in the evening after…

No tent camping

The brochure said '10 tent sites', but when we got there, they do not allow tent camping. The ladies in the office were very, very helpful in trying to look up other campgrounds in the area for us.

Can't beat it for convenience

Well, we TRIED to stay here but it wasn't open as of May 11, 2021. We did ride through parts to check it out for the future.

Funniest thing, at the entrance are old school phone booths. With zero cell, you will be kicking it old school.

The loop we drove through was definitely not big rig…

Close to town with lots of mobile homes

For me, this wasn't the ideal place. The perimeter is all full time mobile homes. The interior loop is daily sites.

If you like really nice people, close to town and just a spot to use as a home base for exploring, this place is perfect.

Stunning 360 views and the cleanest grounds

North Fork (NF - on river) is 1 of the 2 campgrounds located within Buffelo Bill State State Park. The other one is Lakeshore (LS - on the lake) We were in site NF 77. Quick review:

  • Immaculately manicured. Every twig was gathered and left in the firepit for use.

Awesome... if you can find a spot.

Elk frequented the very quiet campground. It seemed to be right in the middle of everything.
