Bridge Bay Campground (elevation 7,800 ft.) is located near Yellowstone Lake, one of the largest, high-elevation, fresh-water lakes in North America. Campers at Bridge Bay will enjoy spectacular views of the lake and the Absaroka Range rising above the lake's eastern shore. ADA Access: Three accessible campsites. Accessible restrooms are located in Loop A of campground and in the picnic area along the entrance road to Bridge Bay Marina.

Bridge Bay Campground was named for its proximity to Bridge Bay Marina on Yellowstone Lake. The area is quite scenic, with wooded areas, open meadows and some limited views of the lake. Because of its location, the campground is popular with fishing and boating enthusiasts. The campground offers open sites with few trees or shadier options in the wooded upper loops of the campground. The location is within sight of the western shoreline of Yellowstone Lake, and at 7,800 feet in elevation.

There are over 400 regular sites and 4 group sites available at Bridge Bay Campground. Early in the season, several loops are closed to reservations due to potential bear activity. RV, tent and combination RV/tent sites are available. Sites for hikers and cyclists are also available. Portions of the lower loops of the campground are more open with fewer trees. The upper loops are more wooded, with a combination of sunny and shaded sites. Some sites have a distant view of Yellowstone Lake. Additional campground facilities and services include:

There are no electricity, water, and sewage hook ups at any of the campsites.
16 public restrooms with flush toilets and faucets with cold running water.
Dishwashing stations are located at the restroom buildings. Personal portable showers are permitted at your campsite only if the wastewater is collected and disposed of properly.
All campsites have a picnic table and fire grate and water is accessible nearby.
Though not available in the campgrounds, complimentary internet service at approved locations is available to registered guests of Xanterra-operated campgrounds. Cell service is limited.

Bridge Bay Campground — Yellowstone National Park

none of the sites were even, most downhill. There are barely and trees and the loops are very small. Only upside was they had firewood for purchase and the bathrooms were clean.

Sloped sites

We enjoyed our stay at Bridge Bay Campground! We arrived early in the morning and we're lucky enough to have been assigned one of the best sites. The campground was clean and very well maintained. The location made it easy for us to explore the south end of the park, including Old Faithful and Morning Glory pool. This was the last campground we visited in during our trip to Yellowstone and we would absolutely stay here again! If you're staying during busy season, make sure to reserve a spot ahead of time. The park was completely full and had we not reserved months before, we would have been out of luck.

Clean, well-maintained, and great location w/ lake views!

Bridge Bay provides great base camp for exploring the south and west ends of the park! We stayed two nights and would definitely come back! Facilities were clean and well maintained. Sites included a fire pit and picnic table.

The location and the lake views make this campground a perfect spot to stay while exploring the lower region of Yellowstone National Park.

A well run National Park campground with lots of amenities. We were there in May and it snowed! Many of the sites were very muddy or had standing water. Great home base for visiting the south loop of the park and Yellowstone lake.

Yellowstone goodness

Stayed at Bridge Bay for a few nights while visiting Yellowstone. Woke up to bison footprints everywhere and a few of them relaxing in the campground.

This campground does have bear lockers but they are pretty small and have to be shared among campsites. You get a great view of the lake from the campsite. Bathrooms were always nice and clean. Bison were often grazing in the open area next to the campground.

Very large campground in a wide open field. make sure to have plenty of tie downs and stakes to keep the tent from disappearing during the day. Great proximity to the East half of the Grand loop. Very few trees and not much to separate the camp sites in the field. 

The picture of bison eating grass next to a picnic table are no joke. They wander right through the lower campsites. marina store is within walking distance and offers enough to replace what you may have forgotten (tent stakes). I 

Yellowstone from your tent

This campsite was nice but it was very open with no tree cover and lots of people in the middle of the summer. We woke up in the morning to the bright sun beating down on our tent and the sound of dump trucks emptying the big metal bear dumpsters at 7 am. It's nice that you can reserve this ahead of time, but I would recommend a different campsite over this one if it is possible for you.

Like all campgrounds in Yellowstone, this campground is well maintained, and well run. I have never enjoyed staying here however. It is very packed, and most of the loops are exposed to everything due to lack of trees, in the shoulder seasons, this isn't too bad, but believe it or not, it does get into the mid 90s in Yellowstone during the summer, and that isn't fun. I've also had close noisy neighbors every time I've stayed here... but, if you've been to Yellowstone, you will know that sometimes you are happy that these extra 100+ sites exist.

Flush toilets, pay showers, and well-spaced campsites eith beautiful views - but only if you book your site early!

There is a public restroom in each loop. It has cold running water and flush toilets. If you don’t have a hard sided trailer all food and related items must be placed in a provided Bear proof box. Each site has a table and fire pit. The upper loops are shady the lower loops have a few trees scattered about. Wildlife can roam thru at any time. They gave us a site large enough both our trailer and 5th wheel could be right next to each other.

Scenic Campground in National Park

Staff at check-in are friendly and helpful. Amenities include bathrooms, dish washing site, clean water, bear boxes for food items and a personal outdoor grill in each camp site. There is a small store and boat rentals by the bay for those who want to explore the lake. Multiple camp sites for tents, motor homes and camper trailers. Most sites are bordered by a thick wooded area and gives the camper a feel of the true beauty of Yellowstone. Yellowstone lake is nearby with opportunities to kayak, rent a boat or just enjoy the solitude of the pristine alpine lake. This campground has its own personal hiking trail to the natural bridge that is worth the time to explore. I would definitely book this site again the next time I am in Yellowstone.

Camp by Beautiful Yellowstone lake

We stayed at bridge bay campground for five nights and each day was better than the last. We had some amazing animal encounters. Elk and bison randomly wander through the campground. Lots of chipmunks and birds. Our site backed up to the forest which was really nice. The bear box was a little on the small side. The site had a pick nick table and fire ring with grill plate. The bathrooms weren’t to far away and were kept really clean. Flush toilets a huge plus. Overall the campground was very clean and quiet.

Forest meets meadow!

There are open sites with few trees or shadier options in the wooded upper loops of the campground. The location is within sight of the western shoreline of Yellowstone Lake.  It great for people who want to be near the Marina but I enjoy Grant campground and village more.  The sites are a good size and you can reserve them ahead of time.

Close to Marina

This campground is centrally located in Yellowstone National Park. It has quite a few loops. We stayed at sites in loop C and loop G. Loop C was very open with some of the campsites being close together. Loop G was wooded with many campsites being further apart. The restrooms were clean but there were no showers. Some of the campsites are not level so be sure to ask if you need a level site. Be upfront and honest when reserving a site about the length of your RV/vehicle. - some of the sites are quite short.

Great place to stay to see Yellowstone. Reservations are needed in the summer and a good idea anytime.

Wonderful National Park Campground

We unfortunately did not enjoy our stay here. With all the nearby beauties of Yellowstone, we were hoping for a more wooded area. However we were in loop D, which was just an open area with very crowded campsites everywhere. We were very close to neighbors, which made it a noisy night.

Camping in crowds isn't my deal so it gets 4 stars. However, it is a well executed national park Campground.  Its clean and well kept the restrooms are clean and warm. Water and food storage is readily available. And the big bonus is the random critter visitors you may find in your Camp when you wake up. We had a bison bedded down about 5 ft from our truck/tent our 2nd night in the camp. He hung out with us until we got all packed up then he wandered through the other sites. Had to take a break from breakfast prep when he decided to scratch his face on the campsite marker and release himself next to our table lol. Great time. We stayed in June and there was daily rain and a couple nice thunderstorms.  Nearly all sites were taken, secure a reservation 4 months in advance or more.

Solid NP Campground

Drove in from east to west on a Friday late afternoon and the sign at the East Gateway said all park campgrounds were full. As I know to do, we stoped to check and see if there were any cancellations... and voila there was a spot waiting for us!

Campground Full - They Found Room

I really enjoyed camping here.  We were on A Loop which is right by ranger booth where you check in.  It was actually pretty entertaining place to be.  You get to see a wide variety of camping rigs, that's for sure.  Our site was in the RV loop so no hook ups but it was paved and really level.  We booked in February for our trip the beginning of September.  I was shocked at how huge this campground is!

  

The bathroom was small and basic, but clean.  Actual flush toilets and running water.  Every site has a large bear box for storage, a fire pit, and a picnic table.  You can buy firewood at the ranger booth for $7 a box.  

  

We stayed the whole week so it seemed like we had new neighbors almost every night.  Did not see any bears but we saw bison and a beautiful bull elk in the trees behind our site.  The elk were bugling almost every night.  There are Ranger led educational talks at the amphitheater every night.  I really enjoyed that.  We also went down to the Bridge Bay Marina and took their scenic boat ride.  So fun!  I recommend checking that out too.

Week long home base in Yellowstone

Visited here June of 2019.  It was first time in Yellowstone, so we didn’t know what to expect. This campsite has mixed RV and tent camping. The only downside is that campsites are very close together and some of the tent camp sites do flood (1”-4” of water) during rain as we saw during our visit. So if you are tent camping, check out your site carefully. Camp office staff was very friendly. The camp office sells firewood. There is a RV dump station at the marina across the street. The marina also sells fishing licenses and does kayak inspections (you have to have a sticker to use kayaks in Yellowstone waters).  Big bison roam the campground as do an occasional bear, so use of the provided bear boxes and keeping your camp clean is highly recommended.  Nice campground. Very crowded during summer.

Tent camping in yellowstone was great. Loved seeing the mountains, geysers, bison, hot springs, sunsets, and waterfalls.

Epic tent camping in Yellowstone NP

We had a reservation for one night to stay here on the way to the Tetons. The site was somewhat open, and below a power line. Picnic table. We were expecting to be close to water, but it was a little drive to get there. Clean toilet. Tents not too close together. Quiet at night. There is a large camp store system nearby (nightly ice cream fix).

Bridge Bay is a monster of a campground- over 400 sites! That is more people than my neighborhood has!  Honestly I can't believe we picked to stay here, as it is not our typical style, but it was all about location and convenience for this stay. The campground sits on the shores of Yellowstone Lake and is conveniently located for seeing many of the attractions of the park. Not much in terms of privacy but the sites are clean and level and the campground offers wildlife viewing right from your site!  It is a reservation campground but we lucked out and got a site for 2 nights by just pulling in on a Thursday.

Like a Village!  

Spent a week here and would have stayed longer if I had known how much the family was going to enjoy it. Only 4 stars because we travel in a 38’ motorhome and the sites were very tight, but to be expected in an older campground that was never designed with larger rigs in mind. Bison and Elk visited our site almost every day. Saw a Grizzly by the marina area, just around the corner. Great spot to head out in all directions to see the sights. 
Enjoyed the fishing charter. Caught three Cutthroat Trout (catch and release only) and one Lake Trout that we cooked up for dinner. 
Verizon works in the campground, but nothing else. We use AT&amp;T for cell and a Verizon MiFi. 

Enjoy the wildlife

Clean campgroumd. Conveniently located in the park and near marina with fishing guides. Sites are maybe ~50ish feet apart with not much privacy but you're not tripping over each other. RVs were politely not running generators constantly. Occasionally some idiot tried to drive a giant bus sized RV into a small RV spot and its hilarious. Definately worth watching. Feel free to point amd take video of them trying to turn around on a 1 lane road.  Separately,  least twice a morning some idiot hits their car alarm somewhere. 

Campsite has clean bathrooms, dish washing stations and sells firewood. Marina next-door has basic camping supplies including Coleman propane refills. Campsite does not provide bear boxes and requires you store bear vaults/coolers in your car. Staff were friendly and helpful. 

We had nightly elk visitors. Apparently Bison are possible as well. Most sites are open meadow but some are in trees. No grizzly signs but brought bear spray just in case.

Tight but nice!

Although we arrived late, checking in and settling into our campsite was a breeze. Our campsite was extremely spacious and although we had neighbors, it felt isolated. The campsite is next to Bridge Bay which had a variety of amenities. The bathrooms were clean. The downsides were that food storage bins were shared with neighbors and the dish washing area is quite cramped for the number of campgrounds in the designated area.

Covid restrictions were tight in August of 2020 so not many of the Yellowstone campgrounds were open.  We were lucky to get a space that someone had cancelled on.  Don't give up until your last day to check for availability as there are always cancellations.  We arrived in the evening after spending a magnificent day exploring Yellowstone.  Such a treasure that has been gifted to the American people.  Campgound itself was pretty basic but the surrounding area was lovely.  Lots of nice hiking and people watching as campers enjoyed the lake and the starry sky at night.

We were in the H Loop with maybe only three other campers. A-D loops were fairly full for post Covid camping. 

Keep your food items put away. We saw no bear in our camp but enjoyed watching the moose walk by. 

Perfect central camping to enjoy Yellowstone  

Campground is in middle of park so it’s not a quick drive in but the drive is beautiful! The campground is easily laid out and clean and fire rings at each spot. Bear boxes located throughout campsite area you may have to share with your neighbor. Wake up and go for a walk and you will see a lot of wildlife in campgrounds. The staff at checkin is friendly. There is a marina if you want to rent a boat or look to launch your own. RV dump station and water refill are conventionally located at exit. The park has a 8pm-8am quiet hours (no generators) which is fine as it dropped to 40 at night so perfect for RV and camping.

Very nice campground with roaming buffaloes. We did the hike from the site and also saw some deer.

Awesome location inside Yellowstone. The campsites are more spaced apart than in other campgrounds which was nice. There are a couple of resident bison in the campground that walk around wherever they like. Pretty awesome sight! As usual, $28 a night and $10 for a box of firewood. No hookups.

Very strict about keeping stuff put in bear boxes(for good reason) but they don’t supply enough of them. It appears you get 1 per 10 spots. Very strict on the check in time. So we had to drag our trailer all over Yellowstone to waste time til we could check in. 
However, we were lucky to snag two nights the morning of due to cancellation. Bathrooms were pretty clean but it sucked that the showers in the park were shut down because of covid. Wouldn’t you want your guests to be clean?

 Our site was spacious. A lot of wildlife around. The bathrooms were nice.

Pretty much what you’d expect for a primitive drive-up tent only campsite. Fire ring and picnic table. There’s well maintained restrooms with household AC outlet, water fountain with faucets and dishwashing area. The only issue I saw was that my site and a few others had no bear box. I stored my food and cooking gear in my car, but if you’re backpacking or on a motorcycle or bike, you will definitely want to ask the rangers for a site with a bear box

Great Campsite On Lake Yellowstone 

Convenient central location in eastern side of Yellowstone, but lots of sites stacked up next to each other with not much space or privacy.  Campground is on a hill so most sites are not level

Convenient but Cramped

This campground have good and bad sites. Up top above loop D is forested and very nice. While below most of the sites are in the open with no shade or trees. Elk visited day and night. 

In the heat of the day when I just wanted to hang out I took my hammock and road over to the day use area at Gull Point and hung out there til it cooled off. 

Camp by the lake

Uninspired campground layout with one site directly on top of another except perhaps in loops E &amp; F in the trees. That said loops E &amp; F directly overlook the main south Yellowstone loop road with cars whizzing by. 

Many loops closed due to bear activity. Staff not helpful if you don't like your site.

Loop D is situated in full sun except for a very few sites at top. site first assigned to me in Loop F overlooks the Yellowstone Loop highway as well as the lake. but the Highway??? on a camping trip? Loops E &amp; F have trees and shade but also massive tree roots. See photo.

Maintenance by the park service is negligible with many sites showing excessive wear.

Avoid this campground at all costs.

Horrible campground in Yellowstone-- Industrial camping

We leaned quickly that you experience here largely depends on luck. Night 1 of 4, we were in loop C. A soulless, treeless field engulfed in the smoke of 1,000 fires. The following day my husband asked if there might be any sites less bad, and they moved us to H Loop. A lovely wooded loop far from the big field. Some sites in the back loops even have lake view. Bathroom was nice. Bear sink very nice. Not all sites have bear boxes, but we were fine without. Everyday, we left and felt awful for the hundreds of people baking in the sun in loops A,B, C, D. Generators can be loud here. Our neighbors used theirs much of the day. 

 Cattle Call or Nice Sites 

This campground is meh. I guess a lot depends on the loop and spot you are in. The place is gigantic. The reservation system does not allow you to book a specific spot, but you’d be well advised to call Xanterra and ask for a spot in one of the further loops (E or higher). Upper part of the loops (away from the road) generally have more trees. Avoid loop A like a plague. It’s basically an RV park, campground staff lives there and it has this super industrial feel about it. We stayed in loop B and after a long back and forth with the check in ladies got a spot surrounded by tent campers (we had a tent) rather than RVs and some shade. We were told no spots were available in the tent only loops. 

The location is pretty convenient though, the proximity to the lake is nice. Lots of animals come to the campground. Elk grazed around our table, a bison napped right by our tent and a huge fox checked it out one morning. This is was not my first time in YSNP, but the first time i camped inside the park and I absolutely enjoyed the experience. Do I wish the campground experience was more intimate? Yeah. But my original reservation was canceled due to the flood so we made the most of it.

Meh… but you are in Yellowstone!

Big centralized campsite over 400 sites. We had a pop-up RV and were put on a very slopey site that was a bit hard to flatten. Nice bathrooms though with flush toilets and running water. Elk and bison in the campsite.  Definitely lots of people there but you didn't feel overcrowded.

Overall this campsite is huge with over 45 spots. However the walk intent sites are very private and nestled in the forest.  Several spots were not flat but overall very gorgeous.  

Tent sites are secluded

The furthest loop (loop H) is one mile from the water. A little frustrating to end up there when you plan on being on the water. However, that loop is thick forest and very pretty. Some of the lower loops are completely exposed. I ended up moving down to loop A in the trees and it was great. Lots of elk and bison here. Beware of their poor AIS procedures

Not very close to the water

The facilities and being close to the wildlife was very nice. However the sites are very close together. And the site I got was very difficult to back into with my trailer due to it being a one way road and another camper having their vehicle parked on the side of the road. Even though when booking the site it said to make sure that the length of site you require is totaled with your vehicle and trailer/rv. Not just the rv/trailer. My site was extremely close to other sites and felt like I had to whisper during quite time to not bother them.

LOUD campground with no help to quiet folks down. This is a largely tent campground and drunks until 2am can really mess up a trip. The tent site we had was right out in the hot sun with no shade or privacy. Ask for the wooded areas! It was a wonderful location with lots of wildlife and very clean! A bull elk tried to eat our clothes which was funny. A Bison stayed behind our tent the entire time too. The showers are not too far and very clean.

The campground itself was cramped and packed, but bison and elk  roamed through each day, and it was just a place to lay our heads at night. The bathrooms were clean. We found it to be a great central location from which to explore the splendors of Yellowstone.

This was by far our favorite campground in the park. Amazing views of the lake and sunset, wildlife everywhere, and it’s very quiet!
