Crowded, but lots to do

I'll start by saying that I like privacy and quiet and nature when I camp, otherwise I'd be staying in a hotel.  But we were looking to get away for a weekend during the COVID times, and site 65E was the only powered site available for that weekend in all of the Wisconsin state parks, so we decided…

Pretty standard commercial campground -- open field with a few trees. Sites would have been very close together if they were all in use but many were empty during my visit. Walking path to an area that overlooks the Chippewa River was nice.

Very clean, quiet, great amenities

We stayed one with ones day notice after Labor Day. The site was waterfront and one hr prior to arriving experienced a mechanical problem with our tow vehicle. We made it to the campground. They were extremely helpful so much so that we were able to diagnose and resolve the issue on site with…

Labor Day long weekend

Great place - except for the neighboring land owners dog.

Phips Landing

Lovely spot on the Namekagan River. 3 established tent sites 1 is more secluded than the others. Pit toilets. A little road noise from nearby highway.

Great Weekend retreat in the northwoods

Great rustic campground in northern WI. Quiet, relaxing on a lake with little to no mosquitoes. Clean vault toilets, dumpsters, and fresh drinking water. Take note no cell service.

Nice spot tucked away in neighborhood

This is a nice park with a variety of sites. If you can book lakefront with a dock those are the best. Others are quote small and tight for big rigs. Their measurements on their website are accurate. We arrived and didn't think we would fit bit did.

Weekend get away

Was quite, clean, and restful. The only challenge was mosquitoes they swarm so I recommend bug spray strong and screen tent. I appreciated the large dumpster on the way out, great job USNF!

Peaceful and Wooded

We stayed here for our annual family and friend camping event. We had group sites 52 and 53. The group sites are not much bigger than regular sites at many campgrounds I've been to. They are also very picky about the number of "wheels" on each site. This is specified on the rules when you reserve…

Low trafficked, backwoods and quiet

If you are looking for tons of activities, close to town, cell service and amenities, this isn't your camp. What it does offer is a deep backwoods experience, isolation and quiet.

Vibe: Backwoods isolation. Only a dozen or so spots. Some haven’t had campers in weeks. Only 4 occupied the…

Well maintained

A group of 5 of us went camping and split ourselves among 3 campsites (2,3,4). Area is well maintained and the bathrooms (flushing toilets and showers) are cleaned regularly- however if you have to use the bathrooms between 7:30-8:30 am, use the pit toilets because that’s when they are cleaning.…

Quite Comfort

Truly a campground to disconnect, 0 cell service and your alarm clock is a beaver slapping its tail or a loon calling it’s mate. If you are lucky enough to to camp with clear sky’s you will see more stars then you ever have! Perfect lake for kayaking.

Christmas in July!

Campground and staff did a great job putting on Christmas in July. Very Kid friendly environment. We will be back.

The natural creek that doubles as a lazy river is great.

Close to activities, a place to stay

The park itself is small and non-descript, not photogenic. The trail along the lake is nice for walking - it is a ridge above the lake with some nice views. Otherwise, the campsites were OK. Ours was secondary growth scrub with moderate shade. Others had nicer trees. Not a ton of birdlife. A lot of…
