Lake Wenatchee State Park is a 489-acre camping park with 12,623-feet of waterfront on glacier-fed Lake Wenatchee and the Wenatchee River and is a great place for camping near Seattle. The park is bisected by the Wenatchee River, creating two distinct areas – south park, which features areas for camping, swimming and horseback riding, and north park, which is in a less developed, forested section of the park and a quarter-mile walk from the lake.

 The park has 155 tent spaces, 42 water and electric sites, one dump station, seven restrooms, and 16 showers. In addition, the park provides two ADA campsites. Call 509-763-3101 for more information.

 The south campground (sites 1 - 100) has parking pads 30 to 40-feet in length, with only two pull-through sites. Larger RVs and fifth-wheelers should use the north campground (sites 101 - 197) which includes 42 large pull-through utility sites. Maximum tents allowed are one family tent or up to two 2-3 man tents. Maximum vehicles allowed are two per site, additional vehicles may park in overflow areas.

Lake Wenatchee State Park Campground

We were in site #133 we had water &amp; electric hook up. This site is a nice big Pull Thru semi private. It's a short walk to the river which is great to kayak in or just float on a tube &amp; hang out. You can walk to the lake along the river it's not to far but to far to carry a lot. There are several campgrounds we were in the North campground which is a little less busy &amp; much quieter. 

  

The boat ramp is in the south campground which is buy and parking can be hard to find so get out early. 

  

We had the best neighbors they camp there often. Two great couples who we floated in tubs with all day &amp; had frozen margaritas with. They had a coolest cooler with a blender. That's what its called. We kayaked the river &amp; the lake it was beautiful &amp; lots of trout. You can't really fish it you can't use bait &amp; only barbless hooks. 

  

We drove to Fish Lake &amp; kayaked there got a bunch of Crappie. Saw several eagles &amp; Ospreys. The owner bought 50 trout all over 30 inches and put in the lake. The little store at Fish lake was cool had some great fish pictures. 

  

By far the best restaurant we have eaten at since we left home 3 months ago at Wild Flour near the south campground entrance. OMG it was the best! Happy hour has good priced drinks &amp; cheaper meals &amp; apps than at dinner time. We had the mushroom appetizer and a pasta dish for the meal. Try the Halibut dish one of my favorites. The pasta of the night was saffron bow tie pasta. 

  

Levenworth is a great town but busy. Go in the butcher shop &amp; get some buckboard bacon. We went to the actual wineries outside of Levenworth some really good ones not the tasting rooms in town. We went to, Eagle Creek, Plains, Silvara &amp; Icecycles winery.  Icecycles location this old log house with all kinds of wood carved things in it. The wine is sweeter not my style but wanted to see the place.

**Campground Review:** We had the best time at this campground, despite being a bit unlucky with the weather. We stayed in site 23, which had a peek-a-boo view, and a nice path down to the beach. It was right in between the beach and the bathrooms, and not right on top of our neighbors, even though it wasn't as private as we usually prefer. Sites 23-26 would be amazing to book as a group with kids (sites 24, and 25 are set back against a nice hilly wooded area and are extra private.) We have a 2 and a 4 year old and the beach was just perfect for them to play and swim. The swimming area is a huge and long small pebbly cove. We were surprised to find it had a little convenience store, kayak rentals, etc., and a beautiful playground for kids. The camp host (who was so nice!) also drove around in the evenings selling firewood. The bathrooms were extra clean, and the area is beautiful to hike and drive around. We did the Hidden lake hike down the road with our kids, and had an amazing time. Also, to be noted there is a South Campground and a North Campground here. The South (where we stayed) has less private sites, and seemed more for tent campers. The North Campground is bigger, and seemed to have more RVs and more private sites, but had no swim beach access that we could tell. Finally, the chipmunks were everywhere and ready to get into your food at a moments notice. We had to keep our food in the car the whole time, even though we have bear proof bins, because they wouldn't leave the boxes alone!

**Gear Review:** As a Dyrt Ranger, I also get products to test and review in the field. We tested out the Belmont Hella Good Blanket and are absolutely and truly in love with it! This blanket is waterproof, warm, and extra packable. We have another waterproof blanket that is big with the mom crowds, and I am going to give it away now that we have the Belmont Blanket. My kids and I loved how soft and fleecy it was to snuggle up in, and it kept us warm when we needed an extra layer. Me and my husband love that it folds up to about 1/8th of the size of our other waterproof beach blanket and is super durable and easy to wash (came out looking brand new after we washed it!) We have since this taken it to the beach many times, and get lots of comments about how nice it looks. I plan to buy these in the future for family and friend holiday gifts I love it so much!!! Definitely worth the investment!

Ranger Review: Belmont Blanket at Lake Wenatchee State Park, WA

_We love camping in this area of Washington. There are so many campsites and each one is just far away from the nearest town which is so nice to know that you won't be bothered by the busy road. I always have the best time and have the best memories here._

This campground was awesome! We got super lucky and found one camp ground someone must have canceled and we were able to book the camp ground! The lake is absolutely beautiful and there are quite a few trails to do around the lake! Also they offer rentals for sup boards and kayaks too. This is a must go if you haven’t but make sure to book in advance to Ghana spot!

Awesome weekend! 

This campsite is great for simple campers. There’s the lake where you can rent out kayaks and stand up paddle boards during the summer. It’s about windy there and they’re known to be a hotspot for mosquito bites! Also perfect for group camping since they have a group site that is spacious! It even has a launching dock for groups who wish to go boating.

Big Lake with Big Personality 

We had the best time in May at Lake Wenatchee State Park, there is lots of kid friendly activities for all ages. The bathrooms were update and cleaned everyday. This is one of our new best places go back to again and again

The campground is divided into two parts by a crisp clear and cold Wenatchee River, flowing out of Lake Wenatchee, locat d in the central Cascade Mountains of Washington. The deep lake is glacier fed, the campgrounds are well loved by locals. Nice pay showers, and the outside campsites in the north part of the campground feel more secluded. Mosquitos are thick in June, but leave due to dry hot weather in July. Huckleberries sling simple hiking trails. Nearby “Enchantments” hikes are more challenging and spectacular.

pretty populated in summer months but totally worth it! amazing hikes and plenty of camping. 

All the sites here were beautiful many different spots to access the water. There were kayak and paddle board rentals availble at the main beach. We rented a double kayak for 2 hours for $45! Kayak the island and check it out if you have time. Also plan on spending a day in Leavenwoeth since it is only a 20 minute drive away!


Huge grounds w/ rentals availble!

Lake Wenatchee State Park is comprised of two campgrounds: south and north, separated by the Wenatchee River. We stayed in the North campground so this review focuses primarily on this one. We were here the last weekend in June and I believe I reserved the last available site back in March. Many families were staying with kids riding their bikes and scooters around the loops which made us reminisce about when our kids did the same. The sites have varying amounts of privacy; the ones on the outside have more privacy because there is no one behind you. There is an algorithm that determines the price based on the ascertained popularity of the site but honestly, I could not figure out how it worked (we paid $32 for a non-hookup site (I believe the hookup sites are on the outside of the loops). While none of the sites have river or lake views, there are easily accessible paths to get to both. While we came for nearby hiking, there is boating (the launch is located in the south campground, I believe), swimming, and fishing. The bathrooms were clean and had my three necessary amenities: soap, hand dryers, and a garbage can. Showers are available for a fee based on how much time you want. Firewood is available from the host when on duty and the host was very friendly. Even though the campground was full, it was quiet at night save for some people talking. We had a pleasant stay here.

**Campground Review:**

While the lake and amenities were amazing (boat and paddle board rentals all day!) The camping itself wasn't our favorite. The sites didn't offer much privacy and had paths (to the bathrooms) right through many sites. We arrived on a Sunday and left on a Monday so it wasn't too crowded, with many open spots so the privacy didn't bother us too much. This is a family campground for sure, but we'd honestly consider going back just for the Lake and the views!

**Product Review:**

As a Ranger for The Dyrt, I get products to test from time to time- today I am testing the Wenzel Double Never Flat Fabric Air Pad (https://wenzelco.com/double-neverflat-fabric-air-pad/). Honestly, we're HUGE fans! I'm plus sized and my fiance is quite tall and we fit on the pad, had the best camping sleep of our lives, and the pad didn't deflate! A little bouncing didn't effect it either ( ;) ). I'd recommend this bad boy to anyone! We really loved it and will definitely be purchasing other Wenzel products!

Ranger Review: Wenzel Double Never Flat Fabric Airpad at Lake Wenatchee

A pretty lake. The campground felt more like an outdoor hotel. The beach get ridiculously crowded. There is a handy little store that sells everything you might need. Even ice cream. 

Way too crowded 

My husband and I stayed in the north campground and absolutely loved it. Sights were not too terribly close. Quick walk down to the water. Lake is absolutely beautiful. South campground had a store with hot food and ice cream (we didn’t try anything) as well as basic supplies. Only about a 20 minute drive from Leavenworth. 

Great park! 

Great place to camp early and late in the season. It’s not as crowded, but you still enjoy the sites. Leavenworth is about 20 minutes away. Throughout the season, there is plenty to observe around the campground from wildflowers to critters playing. 

Great offseason camping

We stayed on the South side of the campground. Beautiful place, quiet, decently sized sites,clean bathrooms, showers and a little onsite market and food. We had cell service. 

Downfall:: We went at the end of June and were expecting nice weather and to be able to swim in the lake. It was so windy and the water was super choppy and rough so we weren’t able to. Would love to go back later in the summer. 

Wrong time of year

We liked camping here but the road can be loud. The lake is gorgeous but very windy! It’s great for a night! 

Gorgeous Lake

This is a great campground with a play area, store and a terrific beach on a beautiful lake.  We went in mid-june and had the misfortune of LOTS of mosquitos.  Luckily the store had extra bugspray, citronella candles, etc. to make things manageable.

Well maintained campground even though it is quite large. If there is any kind of wind - the kayak rental will be closed so be aware.  Plenty of tree cover say most sites. Very clean facilities. Note that you won’t get that secluded feeling here. This is a full service campground. 

Top notch

This place has everything, including some serious wind and freezing mornings. Bring your paddle boards, kayaks and floatation islands, though the water was cold my family never left the water. One day was so windy not only was rentals closed, but the cold lake was not appetizing. Instead we drove to Safeway in Leavenworth, went shopping in town and picked up pizza from Rudloof’s Pizza and Brats, greasy, but incredible. I wish we planned white water rafting in Leavenworth, it seemed like a few fellow campers were planning to. Fire ban was a bit of a bummer, but understood, I wish I had a propane fire pit for those cold mornings. My family will be back.

Ultimate eastern WA lake camping

We love Lake Wenatchee and it has become an annual trip with a couple other families that we camp with.  The sites are roomy and well taken care of.  The bathrooms are clean and accessible.  There are some great trails that you can walk to and more if you're up for a drive.

  

The lake is beautiful, though it gets really windy in the late afternoon, so you'll want to spend you time there earlier in the day.

  

The town of Plain is close by and has a really useful grocery store with great ice cream and a good selection of emergency supplies.  There is also a laundromat behind the grocery store, just in case!

Amazing campsite great for family and friends!

We stayed here in February and used the campground as a home base for a XC ski trip. The winter camping area is in the South Campground in what is the summer-time day use area. Tents can set-up near the water in the trees. Vans and RV have to stay in the parking lot. We only had two other groups camping on a Thursday night. Apparently it gets busy even in winter during the week-end.  There was an open heated bathroom with shower and a warming hut with a woodstove (not on and no firewood) used by skiers. Views are awesome and access to groomed ski trail network was also right off your steps.  Decent AT&amp;T cell reception.

Great winter camping option in the Leavenworth area!

We went on a last minute trip with our 3 and 1 y/o. We were lucky to snag a spot as it was the last one available. It seemed like a popular spot so book in advance. The campground was nice and tidy, bathrooms and showers were as clean as possible for a campground. We camped in the north campground. Campsites were a little close together, but still tons of room for the family. We drove around the lake and hiked up to Hidden Lake the first night, and hiked up the river to the lake on the second day. Both hikes were about 2 miles and easily done by our 3 y/o. Didn't run into to any mosquitos! We would love to come again if possible, and next time we will try and book early so we can snag a campsite closest to the trail/lake.

Amazing Location, Great for Kids!

Of the 200+ sites in the south campground, none were occupied. It was dark, facilities were shut down for the season, host was off duty. Ghost town. One other car pulled in after I'd made camp, but I'd already decided to bail for the KOA in Leavenworth. Did not stay the night.

Tmobile 5G was good: 50-80mpbs, same with ATT.

Offseason was quiet...too quiet

This was our first big camping trip as a family.  My husband and I had both camped separately as kids/teens but we never did it as a couple for some reason.

  

Anyways, this was a fun trip.  Despite there being a heat wave, the weather by the lake was refreshing.  The campers around us were polite.  My daughter even made some friends with the site next to us.

  

The beach was super busy but there was still abundant room to set up a couple of chairs &amp; relax.  The rentals were fairly priced - hubby went out on the lake in a kayak.  And the little store was friendly.  Bathrooms were as clean as busy state park bathrooms could be.

  

We're headed back again to the same site this year.

Going Back

Site was adequate. The picnic table was super close to the fire pit and a huge rock but you can’t move it. The table is chained to the ground. The site has decent shade during the day. But enough exposure to dry clothing and tents. 
Baths are okay. The shower rooms were clean. $0.50 for 3 minutes. 
Water was close by. Garbage and bathroom were a short walk. 

Average campground but access to lake is great

Stopped off on way to Seattle and ended up staying a few days.  Really great campground with nice play structure for kids and the restrooms were the cleanest of any campground I have been to in years!  Well maintained and if not here during peak feels like you have the lake to yourself.  Great stop off!

Quite liked this campground, a few things to note first about the site then the park.

Showers were actually free
Normally it is pretty windy, but there was no wind both days we were present
Mosquitos were worse than usual, but a constant cost of DEET and a anti mosquito candle kept them at bay, still got bit up a bit
There is a pretty legit store with camping stuff, espresso, and ice cream

By the beach there was a dude selling kayak/ paddle board rentals, he does not come on especially windy days
