Deception Pass is one of our favorite campgrounds in WA having lots of coastal access and a trail system along the water which takes you to The Bridge as well as other lookout points on Anacortes island.
At different times of the year you can fish the shoreline for Searun Cutthroat and/or…
Great WA State Park located on Marrowstone Island in Port Hadlock WA.

With pre-Covid recreation sites for Kayaking, boating, scuba diving, paragliding and fishing - this…
We stayed in Elk Camp, group sites for RV and tent camping. The spaces were quiet and somewhat private. The showers/bathrooms were clean. Very well kept areas. The hiking trails were great, with access to the Skagit River, and beautiful views!
We car camped with our three kids for a few nights. It was like most state parks, so not super private or remote - but it was a good state park. The tend sites are wooded and private. Showers were cold. We walked down to the beach to clam for dinner, which was a neat experience for the kids.
We've now stayed at this campground twice. It's a bit unique as half the sites are KOA and half are Thousand Trails, but both sections are serene, well maintained, and peaceful. We use this campground as a jumping off point for kayaking adventures into the North Cascades.
Stayed both on tent side and hookup side. Well maintained, clean facilities. Ice cream truck makes the rounds every day. Good use of greenery to keep sites separated, and easy access to the beach from the whole park.
The sites are very private and there is a ton to do here. Hiking, beach, boat tours. We went pre-COVID, so there might be less to do now. In the evening they even had a concert at the outdoor amphitheater. It was one of the best places that we’ve camped. Really great for our kids.
RV sites 1, 2, 4, 9, and 11 will be easier to back in to. The other full hook up sites are 90° approaches. Very nice park for playground and a very nice venue building. A lot of picnic tables in the open and in the shade of trees.
Small rocky beach only accessable when the is not to…
This is a non-motorized water vehicle campground. You have to paddle in to camp here. There are two sides to the campground, separated by a marshy area. We camped in a couple of sites at Prevost Harbor(we were a large group of 12) after hauling our kayaks up into the grass in expectation of a high…

This place had great communication, great hosts, a very clean bathroom and laundry. Awesome club house too! You can tell it’s a lot of long timers, and the place is pretty small. So I felt like I was annoying my neighbors every time I walked to the club house or shut the door. But other then that…
Right on the river on one side of the freeway, and hood canal on the other. Has some road noise for sure. Good hiking.
This nice little campground probably gets overlooked by people heading to Port Townsend or Marrowstone Island, but it’s well worth consideration. There are sites in the woods that are preferable to the more open sites near the day use area, which are very close together. The sites in the wooded…

We stayed here Saturday-Sunday in late May. The campground was nice and clean, but the sites were pretty close together. We were able to make it work, even with our dog-reactive dog, though. Recommend campsite 48 as it seemed to be one of the most private ones. The beach was lovely and not at all…
I didn’t actually get to stay here but I just wanted to let everyone know that the road to get to this campsite is closed as of 5/22.
It’s so great to find a new campground on the map and then have it far surpass your expectations. And then to arrive on a sunny Friday afternoon and find a great first-come/first serve (FCFS) campsite about 100 yards from a breathtakingly beautiful shoreline. Amazing! This county-run campground…
