Great Spot!

Super friendly staff, very clean and kept grounds in the woods. We must have come at a great time, no one else is here. We have the place to ourselves and it’s just like being deep in the woods but with power and water.

A Gem of a State Park on Puget Sound

This was our first time at Penrose Point State Park. We are so fortunate to have so many State parks along the beaches of the Sound. Penrose Point is located across Carr Inlet from Gig Harbor and Fox Island. There are trails and beaches to explore. Lovely large campsites. No hookups available but…

Great for a quick overnight, not a place to escape

This is a beautiful spot! I was recently needing a place to camp outside of Olympia on a roadtrip. It’s about 10 minutes from I-5 so perfect for a one night stop, not sure if I’d want to stay there for more than that. The campsite had very little privacy and unfortunately everyone was woken up by a…

Great for quick getaway

Stayed here as part of a 20-person group. Great spot for meeting between Portland and Seattle! Only 20 minutes off the freeway but you feel way out in the country. The only downside is the road noise nearby. People zooming by on the country road. Outside of that, it’s a beautiful spot. Dogs played…

One of my favorite family campgrounds!

Sites are roomy. Lots of walking and biking trails. Fishing and swimming areas. Concessions and rentals at the beach. Great staff too.

Fairly large, nice, and mostly empty CG

We are full-timers in a 36 ft Class A with a Cherokee Trailhawk tow and stayed in site 10 for 3 days in mid August. Our site was fairly level. The sites are fairly close together, but there were only a few other people camped and didn’t have anyone near us. I could not find a fairgrounds map online…

Lots to do for kids

Big open park space for kids to play. Hiking along falls is fun. Swimming in hot weather would be great. It was COLD in June. Sites are nice.

Nice park, a ways to lake

We liked our spot but it was a haul to lake. We SUP so had to drive each time. Beach is SMALL but lake is awesome. Most picnic spots are in trees.

We love camping here. Lake Sylvia is great for our SUP's and the kids to swim. Only 4 sites with power and water. No sewer. Rest of spots you need generator is you have camper. Reserve early as fills up quick. Particularly the spots bordering lake.

Beautiful spot!

We were lucky the rv spots were not full, otherwise it would have been too crowded. Overall beautiful spot, near the lake, great hiking. Only issue was that the closest dump site was an hour away. No internet or cell service.

Small, well cared for campground

Only con is road noise from Hwy7. Main through fare to Mt Rainier south entrance and services. Sites may be too close together if park was full. We were one a few campers! We tent camped and had view of Lake Alder. Nice campground host. We'll cared for, clean, organized sites. No sewer or…

The spots in front along the water are first come first serve and I got here around 10 and was able to slip into a site when the previous site occupants left. However, the whole campground is lovely, lots of space in between sites, I have the sound of the ocean so it feels like a silent campground.…
