A night in the rainforest

Going East on Upper Hoh Rd, a site is on the Left side, before the pay booth for Olympic NP. The have 2 signs posted, Discover Pass required and no campfires. This location has 1 designed campsite, which is completely out of view from the road. Quiet location, rains often...ie rainforest.

Absolutely amazing

Showed up late (around 9pm) and there were still plenty of good camp sites. We got one right on the water, which is the prettiest lake I've ever seen.

Rivers edge

This location takes the Discovery Pass. There was no host here, and cell signal is spotty at times. I had to drive towards the 101 after I found my site to get signal to call or have internet access. It worked out. There seems to be about 6 sites at this campground. Quiet, just the sound of…

Great state park

We car camped with our three kids for a few nights. It was like most state parks, so not super private or remote - but it was a good state park. The tend sites are wooded and private. Showers were cold. We walked down to the beach to clam for dinner, which was a neat experience for the kids.

Fantastic and very spacious

This camp ground had a lot spaces available all with the usual hookups. Felt safe the whole night. This camp ground is also well lit.

Great weekend stay

First time camping with our camper and first time backing it into a spot, not the greatest and was never told once I had to redo it. Everything was perfect. Nice spot and not far from the beach we clammed at.

Great sites and activities

The sites are very private and there is a ton to do here. Hiking, beach, boat tours. We went pre-COVID, so there might be less to do now. In the evening they even had a concert at the outdoor amphitheater. It was one of the best places that we’ve camped. Really great for our kids.

Very nice smaller park

RV sites 1, 2, 4, 9, and 11 will be easier to back in to. The other full hook up sites are 90° approaches. Very nice park for playground and a very nice venue building. A lot of picnic tables in the open and in the shade of trees.
Small rocky beach only accessable when the is not to…

Walking distance to the beach

This is one of two campgrounds at Fort Worden, which I find slightly less preferable to the lower (beach) campground. It is a close second though, since it's an easy walk to the beach, and actually offers a nice wooded location. The sites are pretty close together, so you don't get a lot of…

Wet but worth it.

This is a very wet campground(you are in the Hoh Rainforest afterall), so bring some extra tarps to stay dry. There are 3 loops, with a few riverside sites in Loops A and C. There were a lot of downed trees that were in various states of being cleared when I was there, which did close some sites to…

Camp next to hot springs.

There are two loops, Loop A which is closer to the river and Loop B which has lots of downed trees that have been worked on as well as walk-in sites. This was a neat campground in that nature was front and center. Tons of moss, deer wandering around, and the slugs! They were HUGE!! No showers…

Kayak camping

This is a non-motorized water vehicle campground. You have to paddle in to camp here. There are two sides to the campground, separated by a marshy area. We camped in a couple of sites at Prevost Harbor(we were a large group of 12) after hauling our kayaks up into the grass in expectation of a high…

Your last choice

Lovely spot

This place had great communication, great hosts, a very clean bathroom and laundry. Awesome club house too! You can tell it’s a lot of long timers, and the place is pretty small. So I felt like I was annoying my neighbors every time I walked to the club house or shut the door. But other then that…

Nice campground with clam and oyster beds.

Right on the river on one side of the freeway, and hood canal on the other. Has some road noise for sure. Good hiking.
