There are tons of amenities to keep you busy during your stay on Chincoteague Island. Take a dip in our pool, let the kids burn off some energy on our jump pillow or at our playground, take your pup to the dog park, or get in on the fun at the activities center. We also have a full slate of events and themed weekends, so there's never a dull moment. We're located in the heart of Chincoteague, so everything is at your fingertips. We're just one mile from the sandy beaches and wild ponies of Assateague Island National Seashore and great restaurants and shopping are just a short drive away. One of the island's premier attractions is just steps from the campground. At Maui Jack's Waterpark, you can cool off and relax in the lazy river or get your adrenaline pumping on twisting water slides. There's an area just for kids with fountains, tipping buckets and waterfalls and adults can lounge in a cabana or grab a cocktail and a snack from Keko's Bar and Grill.



Jellystone Park™ Chincoteague Island

We don’t always pick campgrounds for their spacious sites and scenic views.   BUT we do pick them based on the outdoor activities we can do from the campground itself via bike riding or walking. Since we don’t bring a car location is very important to us.

This private campground is in a fantastic location.  Waking distance to stores, water slide park, kayaking, fishing/crabbing from bridges  and  Biking distance to Chincoteague Wildlife Refuge &amp;  Assateague Island National Seashore .  There is even a complimentary trolley that will take you to the beach during the “in season”.

You can rent kayaks and bikes from this resort.  There is a pool, jumping pillow, and playground.  The water park adjacent cost an additional fee.  They have 3 day passes and after 3pm packages. (You May also get a discount from KOA front desk)

The campground- tight and efficient with a lot of options for staying here from little cabins safari style tent cabins, rental Rv’s, grassy tent area to full hook up rv sites.  We had a premium RV site and since we were here off season in late April- the campground was not super busy.  Just expect that you will be in very close proximity of your neighbors and it will be loud and boisterous in the evening.  Our solution?? Hike and Bike all day so you are exhausted. That way after dinner and a couple of glasses of wine... you really don’t care.

We came here specifically to experience the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge and Assateague Island VA National Seashore and the parks did not disappoint.  We biked and hiked the the parks but you can easily enjoy a lot of the sites via car. Just know that pets are NOT allowed.  There are Ubers in this area.  Here is a link to the trail and park map.

There is a fee of $10 per car for 7 day pass.  Bikers and Pedestrians get in free.  (The fee gets you into both parks).

Location trumps privacy 

The sites are very close together. There was several times during our stay that the bathroom was out of toilet paper. The staff was friendly. There are lots for the kids to do, jump pillow, playground, camp activities, pool and there is a water park for an additional fee. Plus it is close to the beach and you can bike ride to everything in the area. Also there are no campsite grills at this campground at all so make sure you bring your own!

This campground is super clean, has nice sized sites, everyone is friendly and helpful. It’s our favorite campground.

Love it here!

Camped here several times and we love this place. Facilities and the grounds are always clean. The staff is very friendly, when purchasing ice or wood from camp store they try to get someone to deliver to your site.

Awesome campground 

We paid over 200 for 2 nights. Due to pandemic the water park wasn’t open but for some reason we still had to pay full price. The spots are close together. The only we stayed here was because it was 10 minutes by car. 

Overpriced

We just returned from five nights at the Chincoteague KOA. I got a great deal over black friday weekend for a deluxe cabin but the "normal" prices are highway robbery. We paid $180/night booking months in advance, but even with the limited amenities due to covid the price per night was well over $300. 

We ran into a problem on the 4th night of our stay where the propane leak alarm sounded at midnight. We grabbed the kids and drove to the overnight guard who called the local fire department. They came, checked for a leak and over an hour later we were back in our cabin. Our kids didn't sleep much after that and ruined our plans for the following day. And of course on the 5th and final night the alarm sounded at 9:45. Thankfully maintenance was still there and switched out the monitor for one from a newer cabin. Talking to a few "neighbors" this seems to be a common problem that has been going on for over a year! The management didn't call or come by to check on us and apologize once after this happened. To be fair, at checkout my husband spoke to the manager and she gave us a credit of $100. But even with that I am still a little disappointed. 

Overall, my kids really enjoy the campground and area so we will probably return. The bathouses are very clean and there are a few to choose from all with laundry. There are kayaks available to rent and a small waterpark that is fun during non covid times. 

Beautiful spot, high prices, disappointing management 

I was impressed with the kind and courteous staff.  The bath houses were sparkling clean.  Proximity to the beach and the quaint town of Chincoteague.  Shout out to Pico Taqueria!!!  Once you park it your in biking and walking range of everything.

Location Location Location

Overpriced.  The smallest sites I've ever seen.  The water hookup had a splitter with neighbor site.  One craft per day.  Small pool, no other amenities.  Small waterpark next door.  Huge mosquito problem on the whole island.

Had an amazing time at this KOA in Chincoteague Island. Only one mile from the beach where the horses roam. Maui Water park was so fun, my kids loved it. The staff here was very kind and courteous. The KOA store was great as well. We will definitely book again for next year.

Beautiful time 

We stayed here to watch NASA launch a rocket from Wallops Island.  We had a great view!  We were in a corner lot overlooking the lighthouse and salt marsh.  We could view the rocket climbing right beside the lighthouse.  It was really picturesque!

The camp ground had all the amenities, including a really nice water park for kids and a tiki bar for the adults.  It's walking distance to quite a lot of things on the island to include several restaurants, stores, a RV store &amp; places to rent scooters &amp; bicycles.  It's also just a short ride to the beach! Ultra convenient!  The staff was extremely kind &amp; helpful 

The only reason I didn't give it 5 starts is because the camp sites are VERY close together.  There was no way to avoid the neighbors sewer hook-up, as it was directly in front of us (that's the case with every site).  Nothing like climbing out of your camper with morning coffee &amp; having to stare at a sewer hook-up!  It may be trivial, but it really bothered us.  They should've laid the park out better.  Nothing is perfect, though, right?  Overall it was still a great experience!

Amazing place to watch a NASA rocket launch

This camp ground is so awesome. The beach is only 1 mile away. The water park is awesome, the kids loved it. Lots of restaurants nearby. The staff here is very nice 😊, and the people at the campground are friendly. Will definitely return soon.

An amazing time

We went opening weekend, so very early April. We tent with a toddler and two dogs, and it ended up being the coldest weekend ever. 

  

We had chosen a premium campsite, which had a raised tent pad and electric available. We were across the road from a bathhouse, which was very nice and clean. 

  

The raised platform made it difficult to stake our tent as it was just a bunch of pine needles in a wooden box. We used our rainfly to help keep our tent from blowing away.

  

It was nice having the firewood delivered to our campsite, which was super handy during the cold windy weather. 

  

Our toddler loved the swing set, and it was fun sitting on the pier overlooking Asateague Island.

  

We managed one night in our tent with 35 degrees and we were able to switch to an RV available for rent. It was nice to have heat for our second night. 

  

The RV rental had a nice platform with a table and chairs.

  

Since we were there for Easter weekend, there were some fun activities for the little ones.

  

Would love to go back in warmer weather.

Family Friendly

Only stayed 1 night and set up when it was dark so I didn't really get a great look at the entire campground, but the tent sites had great views and I think there was a lighthouse nearby. Went to check out the wild ponies the following day

Fantastic views 

Unfortunately not my favorite trip this year I had higher hopes for this trip.    The sites are super close and tight you really have to watch you trailer size.   We were able to get in but most other camper around us could not get trailers in spaces, either due to trees, or utility boxes being right on the corners of sites.   Management didn't seem to do much enforcement with the late night partying and random drunks yelling at 2 - 3 -4 am.   Store was okay, didn't have a lot inside.   There is a water park attached to the campground but I was not a big fan of purchasing what I thought was semi- expensive extra tickets each day for a little water park.

  

One the other side of the coin we had fun crabbing off the dock with other campers, going into town was very convenient totally with in walking distance for ice cream.    Super convenient to drive over to see the ponies and go to the beach.   They had a pool nothing special but refreshing and fun for the children.

A little disapointed

This is a well kept, up-to-date campground with lots of variety for places to stay. However, the RV sites are very close, it was packed, noisy, and full of kids and barking dogs. Not quite the nature experience I was hoping for. Bath houses are clean and renovated and nice. Location is just across the bridge from Chincoteague Wildlife Refuge which was awesome. 

Lovely but crowded

Campground has easy walking access to the National Park, shops, restaurants, and mini golf. Just outside the gate is the water park and food truck court. We are very pleased with the location and views. The only thing I think could be improved is access to a water spigot for tent campers. Also for primitive site tent campers be aware there are no assigned spots.
