Tentrr Signature Site - Treetops at Lake Wapanacki

About

Located on the property of an old summer camp, Wapanacki has a storied history.

Your tent site is just a short walk to the private lake as well as the miles of trails. You'll have access to a real bath house with clean toilets, sinks, and hot water showers. The bath house also boosts electricity for charging phones. Next to the shower house is another building, The Bear Locker, with shelves and space where we ask you to keep all of your food and supplies.

Spend your days on the trails, swimming, and canoeing; there may be no need to leave! But if you're looking to explore a bit further afield, we're close by to quaint VT towns, award winning craft breweries, and great hikes.

Your tent is located where the summer camp had a series of tent platforms. Camp Wapanacki was founded in 1938 as the first camp in the nation for blind and vision-impaired children. In the 1990's, the camp was run by the Girls Scouts. Wapanacki was privately purchased in 2014 and while we now rent cabins and your tent site, the intention is to keep the camp spirit alive by continuing to share this special place with visitors. We want Wapanacki to be a spot that you feel a true connection to and wish to return again and again.

The Space: True Glamping by a Private Lake - access to hot water bath and shower house with electricity. Your tent site is located on the grounds of an old summer camp with a unique history.

Guest Access: This is an exclusive Tentrr Signature campsite. Tentrr partners with land owners to offer unique accommodations in beautiful outdoor spaces. Our campsites are off-the-grid which means they generally do not have access to electricity, wifi, or modern plumbing. Instead, they offer the chance to relax, unplug, and fully experience nature!

Your Tentrr campsite includes a 10'x12' (120 square feet) safari-style canvas tent on a raised wooden platform. Inside the tent you'll find one queen bed or a queen-size bunk bed (see photos for the exact setup). The tent is big enough for the bed plus one or two extra sleeping bags on the floor. Aside from the canvas tent, campers can also use the extra 5-person pop-up dome tent that___s provided. You'll also have a 6-ft picnic table, outdoor fire pit, 2 Tentrr Adirondack chairs, and a heating source to keep you warm and toasty at night.

Max Occupancy: This refers to the total number of campers allowed onsite with your reservation. You may have as many campers in your party up to the maximum limit that is set for the listing, but please note that the only bed provided as a standard amenity is the one set up inside the canvas tent.

What you should bring: -S'mores supplies & any food you'd like to eat -A cooler to keep your grub from spoiling -Bedding and pillows -Lanterns and lighting -Firewood for the campfire

Interaction with Guests: Upon check out, you should leave-no-trace of your stay and be sure your campsite is returned to its natural glory! While Tentrr does not charge a cleaning fee, we do expect campsites to be left how they were found. After you check out, take everything you brought in and be sure to leave your trash at the designated location on the property.

If a CampKeeper submits an incident report after your stay that details evidence of trash or damage to the campsite or the CampKeeper___s property, Tentrr reserves the right to charge a minimum cleaning fee of $50. Just make sure to follow the Camper Manual posted at your campsite and you'll be set!

Reservation Modifications/Cancellations: Please note the terms of the cancelation policy as they are outlined in your reservation confirmation. If you need to cancel or modify your reservation, please reach out to Tentrr Customer Support. Your CampKeeper is unable to change or cancel your reservation on your behalf. Tentrr Customer Support can be reached at (888) 798-9093 or at hello@tentrr.com.

Other Things to Note: When you arrive, please park in the designated area at the front of camp and walk up to the tent site with your gear.

Check in is 3pm and check out is 11am.

The tent has a double bed with a comfy memory foam mattress. Please bring your own pillow, linens, blankets, or sleeping bag.

Remember, we are in nature and not alone. Please leave all food and supplies in The Bear Locker, the building next to the shower house.

Please exercise extreme caution when having a campfire; do not leave your fire unattended.

The lake is clean and great for swimming - jump right in!

We have cabins available on property as well so there may be other guests on property during your stay. Get in the camp spirit and say hello! Please be respectful in the evening as voices tend to carry over the water.
