This place was quiet and secluded. There was a nice trail to walk. There is a river but it looked to be dried up when we went. The stars are amazing. It’s $5 to camp and it’s first come first serve. There is a water fill up area at the trailhead.
We found this place by accident and were very pleased. Small campground that is first come -first serve sites. Not suitable for trailers or large RV due to the road going in. Fire pits, tables, and ver clean bathrooms. Located next to the sand stone bluffs and a jumping off point for trail hikers. Will definitely look this place up on our next trip. Be sure to bring your own water.
I stayed in this campground in early September and I was the only person there. It's great if you like the convenience of a drive-up site, but also prefer seclusion. I believe there were 8 sites all equipped with picnic tables and fire-rings with a few vault toilets. The toilets were decently clean when I was there and there was toilet paper. There really isn't any shade, so it's not the best place to hang out in the middle of the day in summer! Nice views and easy access to some backcountry trails in Coyote Buttes.
