## Overview

 Devils Garden Campground is located deep within the heart of beautiful Arches National Park in Southeastern Utah, at an elevation of approximately 5200 ft.. The campground is situated among natural sandstone arches and fins and is only 18 miles north of the park\'s entrance and 23 miles from Moab, Utah.\_\_ 
## Recreation

 Hiking trails are abundant in Arches, including the Broken Arch Trail, a scenic loop with a trailhead conveniently located within the campground. Trails are varied and offer something for everyone, from the easy 0.3-mile loop around Balanced Rock to the steep and strenuous 3-mile round-trip trail to Delicate Arch. Other recreational activities in the park include guided hiking tours of the Fiery Furnace, an off-road vehicle route, road biking and picnicking. 
## Facilities

 Devils Garden contains 51 campsites that are available for reservation (Including the two group sites and one accessibility site), offering visitors a great opportunity to stay overnight in a unique national park. Roads and parking spurs are paved, allowing smooth access for all types of travelers. A campground host is located on-site. Flush toilets and drinking water are provided, and campsites contain picnic tables and fire rings. The park does not have dump stations, or electric, water, or sewer hook-ups for RVs. There are also no showers. Firewood is not for sale at the campground. Please buy a coupon for firewood at the Visitor Center. 
## Natural Features

 The campground is forested with mixed stands of Utah juniper and pinyon pine. Flowering prickly pear cacti, yucca and other desert wildflowers dot the landscape, offering vivid color to the surrounding red rock desert. Arches National Park has the highest concentration of natural arches in the world. Over 2,500 of these unusual rock formations can be found here. Towering spires, fins and balanced rocks complement the arches, creating a remarkable assortment of landforms in a relatively small area. The park is within an arid, high desert environment with hot summers and cold winters. 
## Nearby Attractions

 Southeastern Utah offers breathtaking scenery, hiking, road and mountain biking opportunities, rafting and scenic driving routes. Canyonlands National Park and Dead Horse Point State Park are within a 45-minute drive of Arches\' entrance. Moab offers numerous restaurants, shops and museums. The desert around Moab is a mountain biker\'s dream, with hundreds of miles of slickrock and single-track trails for all riding abilities.

Devils Garden Campground — Arches National Park

Devil's Garden is the most beautiful campground I have stayed at.  It is very hard to get a spot, the slots fill within literal seconds of being released.  All of the sites are unique and beautiful.  This campground is set up so there are no sites backed to each other so you get views behind you, not neighbors!  The bathrooms are well kept and have flushing toilets.  There are 2 site hosts as the road is fairly long with 52 sites.  When we were there the hosts were selling firewood, but the next day they were no longer selling wood in the park so make sure to check ahead.  There is no store for other supplies.  There is access to a few trails along the end of the of the road in the small loop. This is a fairly long walk if you are at the front of the campground. There is access to trails before the entrance to the campground, which is walkable along the road, but a definetly not close.  For the most part the even number campgrounds are backed against red rock formations, the odd numbers are along the canyon side with further reaching views but less protection and privacy, and the highest number campgrounds seemed largest along the back of the loop at the end of the campground. In my experience I was not able to pick the site I wanted because of how quickly they go. I lucked out because I thought our site was the best.  

Site 002:
This site is the first site past the camp host house.  There is a good distance and a very large rock formation between the host and this site.  There is no site across the road from this site either, leaving it fairly private on 3 sides.  The next site is close but there are several spaces to set up tents. I would say you could fit 3 tents throughout the site.  The site is on a hill but the tent areas are fairly flat, although separated from each other.  The lowest area was flooded during our stay, as were many areas of the entire campground(and park) from unusually heavy rain.  The bathrooms are very close.  If I had my pick of sites I would choose the one again.

Beautiful campground in Arches National Park. I believe it is the only campground in Arches National Park and the scenery is gorgeous. All of the sites look nice but I liked site 21 and 18.

Cool national park. Worth a day trip for sure. Not my style of camping but would enjoy a weekend there just to have more time to check out the park. 

Open desert camping in awesome National Park

This is the only campground in Arches National park. There are 50 campsites but it fills up so reserve online if you can. There are some low trees to give you some shade during the day. Pit toilets, potable water but no showers. Easy access to hikes in arches national park and a 30 minute drive into the town of Moab. 

If you want more amenities you can get a camp site closer to the town of Moab with showers. They won't be near as scenic and run about $48 vs $20 but they have nice showers and walking to restaurants and shops.  

Great spot if you can secure a site. 

Arches National Park Campground

I really loved this spot. The best spots are at the very top of the hill at the end of the road. Those spots offer a 360 degree view of the desert floor to the west, and the mountains to the east. Depending on how far you want to walk, there is access to several of the park's arches right from the campsite. Beware of Ravens! They are extremely cunning and can open up food packaging and rubber maid type storage totes. I recently visited all of the National Parks in Utah & Texas and this was my favorite campsite. 

Amazing Campsite

It is a very long drive from the park entrance to get to this campsite but it is completely worth it. Each site has a firepit and a bench along with an incredible view. You can pull your car right up to your site then go a little ways back from the road to find a space to pitch your tent. After getting set up make sure to take a hike and check out some of the incredible rock formations accessible right from the campsites. They have a water pump and bathrooms at a central location and the sites are spread out enough though there is not much actual privacy due to the lack of trees.

The campground was over all beautiful and when I went there was a beautiful sunset to make the campsite worth it

Amazing

This campground was a little removed from the main interest points of the park. It was small and primitive. Not a whole lot going on in camp loop. There is a bathroom but no showers. Generator use is limited in the loop. Of the Utah parks, it was my least favorite due to lack of transportation systems. If you drive an RV and don't have a tow vehicle this can be a challenge to get around. We made the best of it and went to thors hammer, double arch, etc. and hiked. Just so you know the sun is brutal in summer so bring a hat, sunscreen and lots of water before you start walking around here.

Camping At Arches

It was a little rocky and the shade trees are far and few in between.  If I would have gone in the fall it would have been incredible.   We stayed here after we hiked all day.  It's very close to all the trails.  Bathrooms were clean and the water was warm.  The views from the site made it all worth it.  This is a great place to stay if you're in Moab to hike or climb.  

Hikers paradise 

Devils Garden is located in the heart of Arches. The views from and inside the campground were awesome! We camped at lot 35 which seemed huge. We had space to fit 5-6 different tents if we liked without being crowded. The campground hosts were friendly and helpful. They made sure everyone was checked in and happy. I slept incredibly well under the stars at Devil's Garden. 

Arches Love

Devils garden is one of the main attractions in Arches national park. The camp ground is located to the right when first entering a parking lot. It is by appointment and I believe it's 30 a night. Very clean grounds and facilities and it's one of the few places you're allowed to have fires in the prk. Be aware that you must sign up for a spot far in advance as they fill up quickly.

More pleasant than it sounds

Devils Garden campground, at the far end of Arches National Park, is a beautiful spot for a night or a week. You'll never tire of the views, or the many hiking trails nearby. The camp spots are nicely spaced, and if you come during off-season, you might even have the place to yourself. Take the landscape arch trail right from your camping spot, or head towards sand dune arch for an entirely different experience. Kids LOVE sanddune arch, and it's a great place to go to get away from the heat, or the wind. 

Beautiful, serene, remote.

ARCHES National Park is beyond description. Its the weirdest, coolest, strangest, spookiest place I've ever been. I cannot do it justice but wow, what a spot. 

This campground is cool because there is actually shade (as opposed to a lot of the rest of the park). It gets ungodly hot in the dead of summer but I heard that winters are quite cold too. According to a friendly waiter in Moab, Arches is the busiest during the fall and spring months.

Once you are in the park (only one entrance), you will still have to drive a good 20-30 minutes to get to Devil's Garden. This is the area with the famous Landscape Arch (not as spectacular as Delicate but pretty amazing nonetheless). There are picnic tables and small grills (not the big open wood fire ones, little tiny ones for a propane tank or so). They are pretty easy going about pitching multiple tents on a site, and you have privacy within the campground. This spot fills up quick during the peak months so book in advance or check last minute for cancellations. No showers or "general stores" so come prepared!

Without a Doubt the most Phenomenal Place in the US!

I tried to reserve a site in Devil's Garden Campground in March to camp in July.  It was full!!! So we were forced to camp in Moab Valley RV Resort, which ended up being an awesome place to camp.  But while we were visiting the park I had to go scope out Devil's Garden Campground to see what I was missing.

Honestly, the campground has plenty of space and is very clean.  The problem is there are no showers and it is almost 20 miles from the park entrance.  It does have flush toilets.  It is right next to the Sky Arch and it is a beautiful area.  If you want scenery, book early and stay at Devil's Garden.  If you want amenities and comfort, stay at Moab Valley RV Resort.

The only Campground in Arches, Reserve early!

Devil's Garden is at the end of a 20 mile scenic drive through Arches. The campground is small and awesome. We were in site 002, towards the beginning of the campsite so we were concerned about traffic coming and going but it wasn't an issue. We were close to the bathroom which I thought was fine but my female companion wished was cleaner. The bathroom is no reason to not book, though. In fact if, its one of the best campsites in the country, so its a no-brainer if sites are available. Book veeeery early! Oh and I think it may be closed summer of 2017 for renovations, bummer. Mountain views, access to awesome hikes, cool plants/trees/bushes, boulders, privacy, dark skies, you name it, Devil's Garden has it. Do it.

One of the best campsites in the country

Sure it's 20 miles from the main entrance, but there are incredible things to see the entire way.  We spent a night the week before Christmas.  Only part of the campground is open in winter and its first come, first serve.  We arrived mid-afternoon and there were plenty of spaces available.  Weather was clear/cold; we went on a couple of great hikes and really enjoyed our time here.

Don't Miss It

My husband and I got in late at night and something went wrong with our reservation to where they double booked our site. The grounds supervisor was very apologetic and helpful in arranging another emergency site since the campground was full.  The campground feels immersed in the red rock of the park and felt private enough from the other camp sites. By the way, the stars are incredible.  It was also convenient for us to wake up and do the full Devil's Garden hike (my favorite hike in Arches) the next morning.  We didn't mind the drive to the site as you get to see the park and you can make your way back on the way out. I would definitely stay here again.     

Would Definitely Recommend

Arches National Park is a good example of how you cannot underestimate the drive times in the national parks. Just the drive from the entrance and visitor center to the end of the park road is almost 40 minutes (and slower with traffic, tour buses, etc.) so any way that you can cut down that drive time (and thus, arrive at trailheads early in the morning!) is key.

The method that we discovered was great for accessing trails before the crowds was to camp in the scenic, spacious Devil’s Garden Campground at the end of the road through Arches National Park. 

Devil’s Garden is the only developed campground in Arches, and since backcountry hiking is not readily available, it is the best way to access trails and overlooks before the rush of visitors from Moab enter the park.  

Our campsite, #53, was wonderfully spacious and far away from our neighbors. We met friends, and our group’s two tents fit beautifully. The amenities are pretty much standard in the national park campgrounds, including flush toilets, a dishwashing station, site picnic tables, and potable water. The other great benefit included easy access to the park’s trails, which are very popular during this time of year.  

Highlights of our four-day Arches trip include: hiking to Delicate Arch _before_ the mass crowds, getting self-guided permits to explore the Fiery Furnace area, and hiking to the far less-visited Tower Arch.

Quiet, scenic launching-off point to beat the crowds 

it was thanksgiving weekend..quite a bit people still around ... First of all Gorgeous place to camp. Campsites arent huge, but very comfortable. Completely surrounded by rocks bush, some bush trees, and at that time lots of Snow. Blankets of snow. We had some hikes just behind our site. Nice comfy bench and fire pit. Cozy place.. and cold place in late november. But the hikes around the area ... exquisitely gorgeous, i forgot about the cold. Ill let the pictures do the describing

Beautifully freezing!

Arches is going through major renovations - multiple roads and over looks are closed as well as the camp ground. The park is closing at 7 pm Sunday -Thursday to repair roads too. Plan around this when you visit! Tons of other places to camp in the area check out camping on Potash road.

Closed - call ahead 

We loved this campground but we gave 3 stars because it was super super super windy and we hear its this way frequently. Basic camping..Long ways into the park so if you want to get there during the day be advised. Also smart to make reservations books up quick like most national parks.

Windy but wonderful

This park is a must if you are In Utah. the temperature was quite nice when I visited. The beauty of the campground speaks for itself when you come. the site was right alongside the road so at night you will get a flash of light. that was the only con about the site.

I stayed at this site for 3 days and it is necessary that reservations are made. The site was actually full at first but they later called us back saying that a spot opened up. The weather was quite funny. It as sunny and then it rained. After the rain the park was super beautiful. At night it was quite chilly and extra firewood should be brought.

I was able to hike the primitive trail. This trail was quite difficult even though it was only 2.2 miles. It was a lot of steep climbing to see arches. It was definitely worth it with the snapshots I was able to get

Alien Landscape

Such a beautiful campground. We stayed at site 28 which I really enjoyed because there was no campsite to our left. On the right the site was fairly far away. Across our site over the road was a view of the La Sal mountains and the valley floor. Behind us was a very large sandstone rock formation so you really feel secluded. Bathrooms were a short walk away and fairly clean. Only "complaint" is the distance from moab (1 hr) which is inconvenient if you're into exploring the park along with the town. The site also seemed to act like a wind tunnel so it didn't help we arrived during a period of already high winds.

Beautiful views

Camping inside Arches National Park is as awesome as desert camping can be! It's almost like being on another planet entirely. You are surrounded by incredible rock formations and all kinds of desert life. There are numerous things to do while inside the park (hiking, biking, etc) and lots to do in the surrounding areas as well. The town of Moab is right outside the park, so there is really easy access to supplies if you need them (or if you want to camp and shop all in one weekend)! If you want to hike, the Fiery Furnace is a must! But you need a permit, so make sure to do this ahead of time. It's best to go in the spring or fall, but the park is really busy during these months. Be sure to reserve your campground in advance.

Desert camping at its finest!

This park is in the northern part of Arches NP so you're 30 minutes or so from Moab. If you need ice, it means a trip to Moab when your ice melts. Surprisingly, Moab Ice is not in the park. Would be nice if they added a cooler at the campground or Visitor Center. Dead Horse Point SP near Canyonlands had Moab Ice. Yeah, it was $4/bag but that's better than a drive to Moab. I expect a national park to have ice.

Enough of my griping - that's really my only complaint. Park has water and bathrooms. Get your shower at the rec center in Moab for $5 (or $7 for a workout/shower, $5 for over 55).

Generators are allowed 8 to 10 am and 4 to 8 pm. There's always that guy who likes to stretch it. Camp hosts should be all over those people. Other than that, it was very quiet.

There are several arches nearby in Devil's Garden if you want to hike. Double O is the most challenging arch in that area. Not sure if Tapestry, Broken Arch and Sand Dune are part of Devil's Garden, but they are accessible at the far end of the campground and are nice hikes.

Weve stayed here a couple times but the best time we've had in the park was a 2 day trip we took in January a couple years ago. Hands down the best time to come if you don't mind snow is January, February, and March. From May to Sept your best bet is to reserve a spot early.

In the campground there are tables and permanent offerings at each site. When we camped there in January there was only 1 other car in the cg. Overnight a storm hit and dropped 8 inches of snow on the entire park!

Nearby there are trails to the world famous Delicate Arch, the Fiery Furnace, and the Windows section. There are also plenty of opportunities for climbing and canyoneering!

Amazing sites close to the best trails of Arches NP

A shadeless, sweltering, exposed, ant ridden, miniature basketball court of a frying pan in the day time. A wind ripped, exposed, barren land by night. This campsite (#42) offered vistges of our impending mortality at every moment. Also decent sunrises and views of the La Sal Mountains can be had if you are willing to face the wrath of nature. Albert, our camp host, was simply awesome! This is however the best of hospitality in an unforgiving inhospitable land. Good luck.


Devil’s Garden - Where Every Vegetable is Roasted 

This campground was very quiet and open. There's not a lot of shade and a whole lot of red dirt. The volunteer ranger was very friendly and helpful. The best part about this simple campground is that hiking paths to several arches are a convenient walk from camp. This made exploring easy. Sunset on the red rocks was a gorgeous view from camp. Be aware that there are sometimes firebans during the summer.

Nice, quiet campground in Arches National Park. It's small and fills up fast, plan ahead. Some of the spaces are small and some are just pullout on the side of the main campground road...pay attention to each site's details when booking.

Each site has its own fire ring, table, and patch of National Park to enjoy. The views from the top of the hill are awesome. There is a hike less than 1/4 mile from within the campground to an arch, and there are several access points to many other arches within 2 miles.

Overall, campground was very clean, as were the bathrooms. The hosts were constantly out working and making the place meet their high standards.

Pay attention to details when booking campsite!

Fin-tastic 

Nothing better than being in the big middle of Arches! I spent $25 at this site to get a little closer to the Arches themselves versus staying more in the Moab town area.  I was really excited to know that I could camp in an area that previously I wasn’t aware was an option from the first visit.  

This is a pretty tough one to score however if you are coming on weekends or during busy times as it is first come first serve without reservation. I would suggest trying to make reservations however because there are not even 30 sites. 

The sunsets here are unparalleled as you are right in the heart of everything and you can explore the park fully from this area simply by taking a walk.  

I do suggest grabbing a map when you get here so you can find the perfect path to the stops you will want to see. To many arches to to count within just a short distance. 

I will say if you are used to camping under trees or where there are a lot of amenities you will want to go into town, but for the adventure seeker who wants limited amenities and more access this one is for you.  It was one of the most unique sites I have been to and because I was there in fall it was ideal conditions for camping during the day, but a little cool in the evening with no real vegetation to stop the winds.

The site I chose was large enough for my taste as I am a tent camper and need a very small footprint for my tent and my economy car.  I had more than enough room to set up and enjoy my picnic table and fire ring in this area and not feel crowded or cramped at all.  

I only wish I had been able to keep my rain fly off at night, but because the temperatures dropped I put it on to keep some of the warmth in my tent so I did miss the truly dark skies in the area which would have been amazing to catch some stars.

TIPS:

*   Bring everything you need so you won’t have to go into town unless you really want to.  There are no stores for things you might need at your campsite nearby.
*   Pack a jacket for every occasion not just chilly nights but also rain just in case.

Can't Beat The Views

We went at the end of March and it was a little hot and windy during the day, but ended up waking up to snow cover the campgrounds. It was an amazing experience to see even though it ruined some of the climbing for that day. The bathrooms were in good shape and had a place to clean dishes. Great hiking around the area.

Amazing experience

We tent camped here a couple times and loved every minute. The stars at night were incredible. This is a great basecamp for exploring Arches NP, but is a bit removed from the other Moab spots due to the long drive to get out of the park. There are clean flush toilets and drinking water, but no shower facilities. Lots of places to explore right from the campground itself. 

Quiet, beautiful and in a perfect setting

Stayed here 2 nights in mid-September, loved it! Our spot was spacious and offered great views. We had plenty of privacy and the bathrooms were clean. Best place to stay when visiting arches, several hikes within a short distance of the campground.

Good Views and Lots of Privacy

This campground is an awesome place to stay within Arches. It's at the very top of the park, so be ready for a long drive in. The sites are really nice. Plenty of space and pretty secluded. Be aware that the ground is hard, so difficult to get tent stakes in the ground. Also, the weather can change pretty quick here, so just be aware.

The sites all have fire rings and picnic tables. I stayed in a tent, so not 100% sure, but I don't think there are hookups for RVs. There is access to fresh water and toilets. No showers though.

My favorite part about camping here was how far away from everything it feels. The stars are crazy here. Also the hiking around is awesome. Even for those of you who aren't avid hikers, there are some cool shorter trails. The trail to Mesa Arch is only about a mile long and pretty easy. It's one of the coolest places to view the sunrise in the park. This being said, its also one of the most popular, so be ready to see other people.

We went in March. They don’t have hookups but it is a beautiful spot to stay in the park.

Beautiful spot

This review covers two topics: the campground itself (4 stars) and the reservation/check-in process (1 star - more on that later). The campground itself is quite a drive from the entrance but is very beautiful. Well-maintained but sires vary greatly. Some are narrow pull-throughs; some have beautiful views and generous back-in drives. Good privacy between most sites (but not between 2 and 3). Cell service is spotty (Verizon); sometimes you get two bars and sometimes no service. Bathrooms were generally clean but no garbage can, hooks or soap (hand sanitizer dispensers) and they were serviced regularly during our stay. Solar lights on the path to the amphitheater/bathrooms were helpful. Two hiking trailheads can be accessed directly from the campground. No water spigots but each bathroom had a dishwashing sink which was much appreciated.
Now for the flawed administrative system! We had reservations made six months in advance for three nights. We arrived a little after 4pm to find both the admission station and visitor center closed. No problem as we proceeded directly to the campground. There was a sign saying it was full and each site had a reserved placard but with no identifying information. Each night we were there, multiple sites remained empty. There was no camp host or ranger on-site during our entire stay. The only employees we saw were maintenance. Even the visitor center was unaware there was no camp host. Firewood locked up and not able to purchase. Fortunately, everyone was well behaved but it could have been quite a different situation if there had been a problem. Arches is a beautiful park and we are glad we had a good stay but hopefully their system will be overhauled soon!

Beautiful campground, flawed administrative system!

This spot is incredible. It backs up to some beautiful rocks and the sunrise was to die for. The spots are spread out and nestled between rocks and brush. Quiet, but small campground. 

Perfect campground

I loved staying at this campground. Arches National Park was our first stop on a road trip we did last summer. National Parks can often feel a little over crowded, almost like an amusement park, but the Devil’s Garden campground felt nice and secluded and peaceful, away from the crowds and buses. The campsites are nestled in between the amazing rocks that the park is famous for. My boyfriend and I loved watching the sunset from our campsite, which was #7. If you are planning on spending a day or more at Arches, I would definitely recommend staying at Devils Garden, but make sure you plan ahead because they fill up fast. I reserved our spot about 5 or 6 months before our trip. 

Lovely Peaceful Campground 

We enjoyed this campground! We traveled in mid May to Arches National Park and unfortunately encountered quite a bit of rain. The campground itself is situated deep in the park and takes about 20-30 min to drive to from the front gates of the national park. The bathrooms are very clean, although no soap is provided (just hand sanitizer) so bring your own! There is also a dishwashing station which is very convenient. The campground is in a perfect spot in the park to do a lot of the major hiking. 

  

The reason I am providing only four stars is due to the location of our specific campsite number. It is out in the open with no form of shade or protection. If you are wanting some protection from the elements (whether that is rain or sun), I would suggest sites 28-49 as they appear to have some trees and rock formations closer to them. 

  

Overall we enjoyed our time here!

Breathtaking!

The campground during my visit was closed, but I was able to enjoy the breathtaking views the rest of my scenic visit offered me. 10/10 would recommend to atleast go and visit it, it is a bit pricey in my opinion if you are just going to go for a few hours, but worth it if you are going to be making a whole day or a few days out of it (it is $30 per car but you are allowed to stay for 7 days as the park doesn’t close, unsure if that includes camping) 

CLOSED CAMPGROUND / PARK RATING

I made the mistake of tent camping in July when I stayed here, and needless to say, the temps were sweltering in both the day and night. This said, I have also yet to stay in such a fantastically magical desert environment. Completed several hikes amongst the plentiful rock formations and witnessed some of the most spectacular sunrises and sunsets.

Great campsite with a stunning sunrise. We were located right across from the amphitheater so we were a short distance from Skyline Arch. We had bathrooms but no showers. Bathrooms were clean and in good condition.

Spectacular views from each campsite. Each campsite is unique. It’s a real treat to stay here. The beauty is remarkable &amp; you won’t soon forget it. I hope to be able to return here one day. 

Stunningly beautiful 

This campground has a fantastic location at the north end of the national park. There are two trailheads from the campground leading to 12+ miles of fantastic hiking.  The sites are a mix of tent, RV, and large RV/Multi vehicle.  These book well in advance-- check NPS website early and often for a spot or cancellation.  There are bathrooms with flush toilets and a sink for drinking water and dishwashing. No showers, water or electric hookups.  The camp host will sell firewood.  (Buy a voucher at the visitors center on your way in-- no services in the park.) The sites are fairly close together, but the natural location makes for a quiet night of enjoying campfires and stargazing.

There’s not much to say other than this campground almost doesn’t seem real. This place is like a fantasy land from the moment you drive thru the park entrance. Phenomenal views left and right and the campground was incredible. Plenty of fantastic sights and areas to explore, and we loved every moment spent out there. The town is about 30 min drive and has everything you need in case you forget anything. 

We were fortunate to see snow during our stay and can’t wait to visit again. 

Simply the best

We got lucky and got the last available site (arrived around 5:30). Besides backcountry camping this is the most beautiful campground we stayed at in Moab.  Bring firewood.  It is only for sale here at the visitor center, pickup at the campground.  We arrived after the visitor center was closed and could not buy wood at the campground.  Not their fault, come prepared.

We got lucky booking site #13 just a few weeks before our road trip. Gorgeous campsite! Recommend going up to the top of the rock wall behind site for sunset/sunrise.

We were able to grab a site for one night and it allowed us all the time we needed to do several hikes within Arches. The site was tight for our 28’ trailer, but we worked it in with room to spare to park the tow vehicle. Verizon service was enough to keep us connected. 

Great Site to Explore Arches NP

Great location at the end of the road in Arches NP.  Close to Devils Garden Trailhead.  Toilets that flush and potable water.  No showers though.  Some sites are definitely nicer than others if you can get one that backs up to the sandstone fins.  Kids loved running around and biking.  Long drive in and out of park if going anywhere else.  Camp host was very friendly and attentive.

Got lucky and nabbed a reservation only one week before our arrival. Spent 4 nights mid-May at site 22. Huge site at the top of the hill with 360 degree views. We could have put up three large tents easily in the surrounding sandy areas. It also has a very large flat paved parking area with the picnic table up out of the sand.
One of the group sites sits between this site and the restrooms, but there is a nice divide and we hardly noticed when we had neighbors. We spent a lot of time relaxing on top of the rock fin behind our site. As there was a clear view of the La Sal Mountains, we also got decent 5G AT&amp;T signal from the rocks when needed. We have short camping chairs that let us fit under the small tree for some shade in the afternoon.
Being on top of the hill, the wind did pick up in the late afternoon each day. That was a little frustrating with all the sand. I made the mistake of leaving the covers unzipped on the tent windows the first afternoon and sand leaked into the tent through the mesh. Also, the only water faucet is by the restroom, so make sure you have a good container to carry water.

we were in #47, which was group camping and only one other guy was there. we were tucked in between two giant rock formations and it was awesome. super sandy, super easy access into the actual devils garden, literally behind us!!

We were fortunate enough to book this campground for one night on July 4th. There are great views of the mountains and arches that you can walk to from your campsite. The amphitheater where they hold events is right in front of a large arch. The bathrooms are clean and well placed so it isn't too bad a walk from the majority of the sites.  My tip: you will have to book way in advance to get a site but plan to book during a new moon. The Milkyway is on full display from your campsite at night.

An experience you will never forget

Wow, what a place to stay. Sites are nicely spread out for being a smaller campground. Being in one of the most popular national parks in the country, you really felt like you had a place to your own. My site was right behind skyline arch, which I could walk to without the crowds near me. Highly recommend my site!

One of my favorites

The best in America? Maybe. The sunset and sunrise are all visible. The night sky is unreal and it’s close to the some of the parks biggest arches.

This campground is surrounded by tall majestic rocks high in the Utah desert.  Well located to visit several National parks. Toilets and water scattered around this large site.  Nightly seminars by park staff.

This campground is beautiful with red rock formations and excellent choices for short and longer hikes to natural rock arches. 

Devils Garden

The spots are all pretty exposed albeit there are cool big rock formations to explore all around. It’s also a long drive in with no service as soon as you get a little into the park. Fantastic views the whole way in. The group sites are the only ones with nice shaded areas with big rocks and trees.

Great Campsite But no Privacy

Only campground located inside the park, and it's a must if you want to see the entirety of Arches!  Our site was well shaded, large, and private.  Couldn't have been happier with our site.  After a long day of hiking, it's nice to come back to some shade and solitude. This gave us easy access to all the trails in the park.  Ranger shows were awesome! Shout out to Ranger Lance. If you're trying to check out Canyonlands as well, I'd recommend staying further south.  The drive from this campsite down to Canyonlands is about an hour each way.  Supplies can be bought in Moab.

Next level campground with amazing views

Devil's Garden Campground is a beautiful place in the heart of Arches NP. There are even arches seen from the amphitheater and several more on hikes that start at the campgrounds. We saw several deer. Wood is available but we skipped the fire as the wind was pretty strong and when the sun set it got chilly in November at 5,200 feet. 

The sites are pretty level with a picnic table and a fire ring at each. In November it is no reservations with first come first served basis. The cost was low: $25 or $12.50 with my Sr. discount. It was a great base camp for seeing more of the park. If we had the time I would have spent a week here. There is a camp host on site and water and flush toilets. No electric, sewer or other hookups. No showers. But the location is worth it. If you go during the more popular months, you will need reservations long in advance as there are only 51 sites.

Found an awesome spot with some decent privacy. A great base camp from which to explore all the arches. There is also a trail leading directly out of the campground for local adventure. I came in winter, so half the campground was closed down, but there was still plenty of spots. Clean bathrooms, garbage available. Fire pit and picnic table at most sites.

This campground is first come first served in the winter season, and we were easily able to find a spot without a reservation during the winter.  At this time, however, Arches has a timed entry program so be sure to look into that before heading to this park.

  

There are flush toilets, water bottle fills, garbage bins, and aluminum and plastic recycling (no glass).

  

 There is firewood for sale, on certain days only, using a q code on your phone to pay for it, not sure how it works, seems complicated. 

  

Cell service comes and goes as you go through the park and the campground. We had no service in spot #52 but our cell booster gave us full bars of LTE on Verizon and ATT. Site #52 is at the end of the loop and was pretty private. Also, the trail to the Broken Arch begins right at this spot. 

  

Fee is $25/night, and there is a 7 day stay limit within 30 days, and 14 days total per year.

Crowded during Busy Season

The First thing i can recommend is to visit here in an off month of weather even in October it can be hot and crowded though October is much milder when it comes to this place. There is nothing like the parks of Utah they are truly incredible and unmatched around the world. Arches is a land of extremes and its utterly stunning being the bottom of a ocean bed. I wish i could come back here every year. With it being a dark sky park the night time is just brilliant as the park is during the daytime.

Here you're high up and amongst the beautiful sandstone formations of Arches National Park. 

The campground: This is the only campground inside the National Park, and it is located at the very back of the Park. Be warned, traffic often backs up at the entrance to the National Park. Once inside the Park, the drive from the Visitor's Center to the campground can take between 30-60 minutes depending on traffic. Staying here is one of the best ways to explore the Park. There's a trailhead not far from the campground, and being able to wake up inside the park allows you to skip the entrance traffic and get a head start before the crowds flood in. 

My campsite had a large concrete pad for parking, a picnic table, and a firepit. The area I set up my tent was dirt, but here that basically means sand. Be ready to have sand everywhere (totally worth it though). I had nightly deer visitors that enjoyed munching on the juniper nearby. The bathroom for my site was a 1-2 minute walk. The bathrooms consisted of flush toilets, sinks, a large outdoor sink for dishes, plus access to drinking water. 

The area: If you're traveling from 70, there's not a ton between 70 and the entrance to Arches National Park, but Moab is only about ten minutes from the Park entrance. Arches National Park is vast. It has plenty of scenic spots to pull over on the drive between the entrance and the campground, and lots of different trails to hike with varying difficulty. Even if you're not a hiker you can still enjoy the beauty of this place.

Booking: I camped here in the offseason (November) when it's first-come first-served, and arrived on a day where there was no host. So, once I found my spot, I put my payment in an envelope found near the host entrance. It's worth noting that on days where there's no campground host or park ranger, you cannot buy firewood at the campground. 

Cell service: Verizon was unreliable. Sometimes I would have enough service to stream a hockey game, and other times, in the exact same spot I'd have almost no service.

Gorgeous Campground At The Back Of Arches National Park 

This is the Ravens home; we are just visitors. Seriously, don't sleep on the Ravens. They are always watching. This place is very hard to book for two nights in a row, so consider yourself lucky if you can live here for a couple days. It was quite nice. I think I saw only one or two other multi-night campers. This gives you the freedom to enjoy the park during less crowded time since it is right outside your door. Some sites are better suited for tents and some for RVs. I didn't have many expectations for this Park, but it is truly amazing and beautiful to explore. The La Sal mountains to the east are nice too.

Ravens

We arrived in Arches and spent the day exploring. Devils Garden looked fully booked on the recreation.gov website, so we were planning on finding some BLM first come first serve spots nearby but decided to check with the campground host to see if they had any cancellations. The campground host found us an available spot that had opened up and it was perfect! He was so helpful, the campsite was spacious and clean, and they even had flush toilets nearby. Only thing to note is it does get cold at night, don’t let the warm temps during the day fool you! We stayed here late September and it got down to the low 50s/upper 40s. Overall, great campground and wonderful campground host. Would definitely stay at Devils Garden again. :)
