## Overview

 Cedar Springs Campground is located in the beautiful Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area on the Ashley National Forest at an elevation of 6,100 feet. Flaming Gorge Reservoir and Cedar Springs Marina are less than a mile from the campground. Exciting recreational activities abound, including boating, water skiing and fishing.
## Recreation

 Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area is known not only for its beautiful red cliffs, but also for its world-class fishing for lake, brown and rainbow trout. Boating, water skiing, jet skiing, canoeing, kayaking, swimming and scuba diving are popular activities on the reservoir. Cedar Springs Marina is adjacent. Bear Canyon Trail, an easy 3-mile round-trip trail for hiking and mountain biking, begins nearby and leads to views of Red Canyon and Flaming Gorge.
## Facilities

 This small campground contains single and double-family sites with picnic tables and campfire rings. Vault toilets, drinking water, a dump station and fish cleaning station are provided. Showers are available a half-mile away at Deer Run Campground. For large group camping, the nearby Arch Dam, Greendale, Dripping Springs, Antelope Flat and Dutch John Draw Campgrounds have several group sites available.
## Natural Features

 Cedar Springs is situated among juniper, pinyon pine and sagebrush on a hillside above Flaming Gorge Reservoir. Shade is limited but the vegetation provides good privacy between sites, many of which have scenic views of the reservoir below. 
## Nearby Attractions

 Flaming Gorge Dam offers guided tours of the working hydroelectric plant and the dam, and the adjacent visitor center contains area history exhibits. The Green River below the dam provides spectacular rafting opportunities. A trip down the river offers unique geology, outlaw history and Native American rock art.

Cedar Springs Campground

We are traveling in Scoop our 26' travel trailer. We like rustic campgrounds, but expect to get the services as listed on campground websites. Cedar Springs in a National Forest Campground run by a third party concessionaire. The website said the campground was open and offered vault toilets, water spigots and a dump station. We were going to need a dump station visit so chose this campground over many of the others available in the area. Cedar Spring also has good reviews online.

Upon arrival the campground was about half full, but no water was on yet, the dump station was closed, the camp host had set up, but was not present and the vault toilet cleaning logs said baths had not been cleaned for 6 days. We stayed even though the rate for basically no services was $23\. We had stayed the previous night at a forest service campground in the Black Hills that had cleaned baths and spigots that worked for only $10\. This campground needs to offer a lesser cost for off-season level of services.

Gripping over, site C offered a beautiful view of the reservoir from the picnic table. Most sites are best for smaller rigs, tent trailers and tents. There were only 4-5 sites that would accommodate our 26' trailer. Because the campground is on the side of a hill, sites are pretty unlevel, but we were able to adapt. Cell signal was good here and we were able to pick up 10 TV stations with our antenna. If you have a dog, watch for burrs, there are some nasty ones.

Beautiful in May, But Meager Services

Clean sites, very overpaved. Picnic tables, firepits, pit toilets. Firewood sold by host $7/bundle. $24/night single site. The campground is kind of on a cliff overlooking the water but there really isn’t any good view or way down to the water. Very pretty sunset. 

Basic campground

This campground is located right up the road from the marina. Loved being able to be close to the water but have such a private, wooded site. Can be busy and would recommend a reservation vs walk-in. 

Great views and private sites 

Great campground. The cleanest vault toilets on the planet.  Water supply is broken but they told us before we arrived so were able to adjust.
