## Overview

 The Ledge Group Campsites are ideal for visitors looking to explore vehicle backcountry routes in the area. Access to the Ledge Campground is down a tight, steep switchback and over several creek crossings on a gravel/dirt road. It is not recommended for vehicles over 22\' or vehicles pulling long trailers. Within close proximity to national parks and open space, outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy hiking, mountain biking, and four-wheeling on designated roads with beautiful scenery. The town of Moab is approximately 25 minutes away and has dining, shopping, sports rentals, tour companies and museums. 
## Recreation

 The Ledge area is known for its access to four-wheel drive, ATV and dirt bikes/motorcycle routes. Hurrah Pass and other OHV routes are nearby. The Ledge is best for spring and fall use as hot summer temperatures and lack of shade in the area are challenging.
## Facilities

 The group sites have a fire ring with a grate, picnic tables and vault toilets. The group sites do not have water, dump station or electric hook-ups. This area is often utilized by groups with motorcycles and ATVs. There is access to 4WD routes directly from the campground. Caution: The Ledge E Group Site is accessed by crossing the Kane Creek drainage, which periodically floods during storms. 
## Natural Features

 Situated off the Kane Creek Road, the dirt roads in this area are well known for their challenging routes and incredible views. Some of these roads include access to viewpoints overlooking the Colorado River and Hurrah Pass. 
## Nearby Attractions

 Kane Creek, Hurrah Pass, Hunter Canyon, Amasa Back and Moonflower Canyon are just some of the many canyons that surround the Ledge and are great areas to explore.
## Charges &amp; Cancellations

 Please contact the BLM Moab Field Office for assistance with changes and cancellations at 435-259-2100. Changes You can make changes to a reservation through your online Recreation.gov user account any time prior to the arrival/first date of the reservation. There is a $10 change fee If you wish to change to dates entirely outside of the original reservation dates. There is no change fee if you wish to extend or shorten the original reservation dates as long as the changes include dates from the original reservation.\_\_\_\_ There is a $10 change fee if you wish to change to the other group campsite E2.\_\_\_\_ You cannot make changes to your reservation after the arrival/first day through your Recreation.gov account. However, the BLM Moab Field Office may be able to assist you, 435-259-2100.\_\_\_\_\_\_ For reservations with dates at the end of the available booking window (a.k.a. sliding window), you will not be able to make changes or cancellations until the site has been available to the general public for four days.\_\_\_\_ Cancellations Please cancel your reservation if you do not plan to use it. This opens highly sought-after campsites for others to reserve.\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_ You can cancel your reservation online through your Recreation.gov user account or through the call center (call center incurs an additional fee). You may also contact the BLM Moab Field Office for assistance. A $10 service fee will be withheld from any refund for a cancellation.\_\_\_\_ Late Cancellations\_\_ A late cancellation occurs less the 14 days before the arrival/first date of the reservation (a.k.a. cut-off window). Late cancellations will incur a $10.00 service fee AND forfeit the first night\'s use fee.\_\_ Early Departures If you spend at least one night and then leave prior to the scheduled departure check-out date, please contact the BLM Moab Field Office (435-259-2100) to open the remaining nights for others to use. You will not be able to cancel these nights through your Recreation.gov account. You will be eligible for a partial refund of the nights AFTER you depart that you did not use. If you depart after the facility check-out time, you will not be eligible for a refund for that night\_\_ No-Shows A No Show occurs if you do not arrive at your campsite or cancel your reservation by check-out time (Noon) on the day after the scheduled arrival date. Staff will hold a campsite until check-out time (Noon) on the day following the arrival date.\_\_ No-shows are assessed a $20.00 Recreation.gov service fee and forfeit the first night\_\_\_s recreation fee.\_\_ Refunds You can submit a refund request through your Recreation.gov account within 7 days of the departure/end date of your reservation. Applicable fees, such as the Recreation.gov reservation fees, service/cancellation fees, lottery application fees, and change fees, are non-refundable. Refunds cannot be issued to any card other than the one used to pay.\_\_ In the event of an emergency closure, all fees will be refunded. Attempts will be made to notify you using the contact information within your Recreation.gov customer profile.\_\_ Interagency Pass Discounts Interagency Pass discounts do not apply to group campsite reservations.

The Ledge Campground

We camped at Tier 1, site 27 of the Ledge Campground system. There are about 6 different campgrounds within this area called Ledge: Tier 1,2,3,etc. The first has over thirty sites and are all well spaced with nice picnic tables and fire areas. Tier two is the largest with over 40 sites and the rest are smaller, all under 10 sites. We tent camped with two tents and there was adequate level space as well as a area large enough for a camper if you have one. There are few trees in ther area so bring something to provide cover/shade. The cliffs surrounding the campground are spectacular!

We camped here during Jeep Week, so this was a popular destination for the jeeping crowd, but the campground was not noisy.

The toilets look a bit strange from the outside but were quite clean and decent. Garbage dumpsters are provided.

Cost is $15 per night. Only 4 stars, wish there were more trees.

Nice place only 10 miles from Moab

We arrived in Moab late in the afternoon with no plans on where to sleep. After a brew and a meal in town we made our way out Kane Creek Blvd along the Colorado River. A dirt road, very scenic, there are many places to camp along the way. This particular site was about 10 miles from where we turned on Hwy 191\. I know this review says "Group Site", but I believe there are several Ledge Camping areas. Seems to me this one was "D". We just kept going down the road looking for "the one". Boy, did we find it! Gorgeous evening, breathtaking sunset, amazing stars.

The site we pulled into was against a bluff so that made for a good wind break. The wind does pick up as the sun goes down. We had a picnic table and fire pit with a grate. We were close to the bathroom, but not downwind. This was coolest open air vault design I have ever seen. Super clean but the smell was the worst I have ever encountered. Like, the sour smell that lingers in your nose for a long time after. You start to think that maybe you smell like that now.

No amenities, other than what's at your site and the vault. Bring your water. I would also imagine in the heat of summer, it would be pretty harsh. There is no tree cover, no shade. We did some fun exploring right there around the campground. Lots of rock scrambling, higher viewpoints, and access to the creek way below. It was a perfect spot for shoulder season and I will be back next time I venture to Moab.

Moab Desert Beauty

We camped from April 12th-14th and had plenty of spots to choose from after coming in at 3:10pm—which was awesome considering it was the first weekend of Jeep week! It wasn’t too hot and it had just rained so all the flowers and plants were thriving. Perfect time to go. 20 bucks a night, not too bad, so bring cash. Picked a spot up against a beautiful, red rock pile and set up camp. Plenty of space between you and your neighbors, but keep in mind, there is absolutely no tree coverage (no privacy and no shade). By the time we went to bed, the campground was full and sound carries, so be mindful of your neighbors when you’re coming in late. Each campsite gets a picnic table and fire pit, but there’s no water. Decent bathroom—open air so you can see the stars when you dump at night. Awesome. 

Beautiful and primitive

This is a great way to get cheap camping less than a half hour from Moab. There are well maintained toilets and dumpsters available. We arrived around 6 and had many campsites to choose from. It got very windy at night so if you’re in a tent look for coverage.

Beautiful, Empty, Windy 

Quite a drive back to camp! RV and larger trailers not recommended unless you really know what you're doing. Vault toilet (not for me but available). Mosquitoes are for REAL especially in the evening. Very remote. No cell service.
