## Overview

 North Campground is located in the beautiful and unique Bryce Canyon National Park. Known for its colorful rock spires and grand vistas that sweep out over the High Plateaus region of the Colorado Plateau, Bryce Canyon is the ultimate camping destination. Located at an approximate elevation of 8,000 feet, the campground is centrally located within walking distance of the park\'s Visitor Center. Famed Sunrise and Sunset Points are located nearby, at the heart of the magnificent geologic wonder of Bryce Amphitheater, where hiking and photography opportunities are plentiful.
## Recreation

 Bryce Canyon offers several day-hiking trails, many of which are inter-connected. Single trails range from easy to strenuous, and from less than a mile in length up to 11 miles. The most popular hikes are combinations of two or three trails. Bryce Amphitheater has spectacular rock formations and sweeping views, providing excellent photography opportunities. The Bryce Canyon Shuttle, which runs from May to September, makes several stops throughout the park, giving visitors easy access to its most popular trailheads and viewpoints. Astronomers love visiting Bryce Canyon, where 7500 stars are visible on a moonless night. An annual Astronomy Festival is held in June, and astronomy and stargazing programs are offered on more than 100 nights throughout the year. Guided full moon hikes are also a fun way to experience the park at night.
## Facilities

 North Campground is a very popular year-round site with paved roads, paved spurs in A and B loops, and gravel parking spurs in C and D loops, flush toilets and drinking water. Picnic tables, fire rings and grills are provided at each campsite. During the spring, summer and fall months, laundry and shower facilities are available at the general store nearby. The Bryce Canyon Shuttle makes a stop at the Visitor Center, which is near the campground\'s entrance, from mid April thru mid October. 
## Natural Features

 A ponderosa pine forest towers over North Campground offering equal parts sun and shade. The site is situated in a gently rolling landscape dotted with shrubs and summer wildflowers. 
## Nearby Attractions

 The Colorado Plateau contains a multitude of awe-inspiring landscapes and Bryce Canyon lies very close to many of them, including Red Canyon, Kodachrome Basin State Park, Cedar Breaks National Monument, Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, Panguitch Lake, Boulder Mountain, Calf Creek Recreation Area, Capitol Reef National Park, Zion National Park and Grand Canyon National Park. Driving along Scenic Byway 12 is also a must-do for its red rock canyons and jaw-dropping views.
## Charges &amp; Cancellations

 A customer who does not arrive at the campground and does not cancel the reservation by check-out time on the day after the scheduled arrival date may be canceled, assessed a $20 no-show fee and forfeit the night\'s fees for a campsite.

North Campground — Bryce Canyon National Park

Bryce Canyon is my favorite place in the world. There are no words the do it justice. If you have not seen those rock hoodoo's in person that seem to emit their own glow, you just have to do it!

A great place to camp while you are there is the North Campground. Our van fit in one of the tent loops (&lt;20ft long) which happens to be right along the Rim Trail with peek-a-boo views of the hoodoos. From our site on Loop C we could hop on the Rim Trail, stop at the General Store for a snack, keep going to Sunrise Point, and hike the Navajo Loop/Queen's Garden Trail. So nice to be able to park the van and forget it. We were able to catch sunset and sunrise just by walking out of our site and over to the edge.

Everything was first come, first serve. We got to Bryce Canyon early in the morning and started driving loops looking for paper slips on posts. If the post was empty, the site was open. Tent site was $20\. Each site had a picnic table and fire pit, wood available for purchase at the General Store. Water spigots were centrally located and bathrooms were standard flush toilet, running water, tiny sink. Hardly any privacy between sites, at least in loop C, but I find that's the norm in National Parks.

My Favorite Park, Get Close to The Rim

This is one of two campgrounds near Bryce National Park. This one is closer to the Visitor Center and General Store. You can walk!

This is a decent campground - very basic nestled in the mist of tall pine trees. Nothing special - just a good place for access. 

There are some spots that can be reserved and some that are first come first serve. 

Closest Campground to Bryce National Park

Bryce Canyon National Park has a few options when it comes to camping  inside the park.  The most centrally located and largest is the North Campground near the  Fee Entrance to the park  and right across from the visitors center.  It is a nice campground with lots of space at each site. It is surrounded by pine trees and it was a little hard to find a tent spot that was really level, but I arrived late and didn't get prime choices for campsites, so I took what I could get at about 2pm. There are restrooms at each loop and showers are available at the nearby North Campground General Store.  Great night skies for star gazing, and if you want to wake up early the campground is close to Sunrise Point.  Bryce Canyon is know for its hoodoo's so make sure you take a least a short hike to get up close to some of those.  When it does rain the trails and surrounding areas get very muddy so make sure to bring some shoes you don't mind getting a little dirty.  
On a side note before you get into the park and visitor center there is a little town with some shops and restaurants that might interest you.  I ended up heading back and grabbing a sweatshirt because it got a little colder than I was expecting at night. 

Centrally Located for Bryce Canyon National Park

I absolutely love Bryce Canyon. The campground was of course, primitive like National Parks are. No problem with a generator on board. Sites were well spaced and there were many trees. The kids had lots of room to roam here. There are so many hikes to do at Bryce:
 Queens Garden, wallstreet, etc. The HooDoos are really cool to look at during sunrise.
I would definitely go back and spend more time there. Love to see it in winter with snow next time


Spectacular Sunrise over the Hoo-Doos

As the title says, no reservations allowed. We arrived at 9am and there were plenty of people leaving and we had a few campsites to choose from. I believe we camped in loop D. We camped 1 night on a Friday in mid-May and it was cold - upper 30's at night - and windy, so be prepared. The elevation is higher than Zion and some other places in Utah, hence the difference in weather. 

The campsites were clean, the bathrooms were clean, and it was very quiet. Most people were burning fires in the evenings and went to bed by 9. There isn't much to do in the town or the campground, so you can expect the same. Camp right by your car, some tree cover and a nice picnic bench. 200 yards or so to the Canyon. Quite a bit further to the lodge but easily walkable in 10 minutes.

Favorite Hike - Fairyland Loop - get away from the crowds and get into the canyon.

No reservation campground right next to Bryce Canyon is perfectly fine!

We loved camping here. The campground wasn't packed and even if it was, the sites are pretty spread out. The bathrooms were nice, with running water. The canyon is just a short walk from from the campground, so hiking was convenient! Bryce Canyon itself is incredible. It's really beautiful!

Relaxing!

We got the chance to wonder and explore Bryce on foot and with our car. The trip was so amazing we plan on coming back but next trip we will have our bikes!

2016 road trip 

I was only able to spend a short time here on my Utah National Park road trip this year but I really fell in love with this place. It was a little cold when I was here but that just meant fewer people to deal with. The campground is centrally located in the park, not far from the entrance or town. You can also make it to Sunrise Point in just a few minutes (driving) to watch the sun come up. Watching the sunrise here was one of the major highlights of my 10 park trip. It is absolutely breath taking. Another great point is all the way at the end of the road, probably 30 minute drive, and it's called rainbow point. If you feel like going to town to visit the gift shop or have a hot meal, there are several amenities within minutes of the campground.

Loved this campground! It was clean, great views, close to trails and easy bus system! The hoodoos are so neat- it was nice to see them at all times of the day and against the brilliant night sky!

A perfect spot to camp in Bryce. Real close to the visitor center and walking distance to superior panoramas. Very clean bathrooms ( hot water and flushy toilets!) easy access. Lots of trees.

Great to be so close to thr trails. Camp hosts were awesome, when there wasn't  a fire pit they found one for us. Bathrooms were clean and in good working condition. Gets very cold due to the high elevation.  Our site was a bit cramped and on the roadway.

Bryce North

Honestly, I tend to be terrible at planning things so 75% of the time I just wing it and hope for the best. As is with most cases, the campgrounds in National Parks are booked and congested and I found that to be the case with this location. After a quick conversation with the Ranger at the entrance of Bryce Canyon, he suggested primitive camping just outside the park that was accessed immediately before the Bryce Canyon National Park sign. The other option was a site just outside the park, of $32.00 a night?! No thanks. Avoid the crowds and get dirty. There are countless sites available to choose from, giving you the rare opportunity to pick and choose what best fits your wants and desires. Again, you'll be primitive camping so ensure to bring the essentials, plenty of water, first aid kit, proper attire, etc. Even if you do space and forget a thing or two, you're just outside of "town" where you can purchase nearly anything although it might be a bit over-priced. If your girlfriend complains there aren't toilets or showers, you can simply make the short trek into the park where these amenities are provided.

Full campground? Audible to primitive! 

Stayed May 27-28 2017 The reserved group campgrounds is immediately to the left after entering sunset campground. Nothing visually amazing but its a pretty chill spot. Site had about 5 tables, and 4 firepit rings. Spread out around the campgrounds. We fit about 6 cars there. Alots of great amneties private to the reserved group campgrounds. Although campers from across the sites, will come by and use the amneties. Cant blame them. Super clean restrooms. Warm running water in the restrooms. Flushing toilets. Private sink for dishwashing. Outdoor water pump for cleaning and pottable water. About a 10-15 minute walk to Bryce Canyon Sunset Point.

Sunset campground - Group Site

This site was one of the most remote sites I have been to. Im not sure if this site is known to most campers.

Most campsites are first come, first serve. We did get to the park early, like around 7:00 a.m., but many campers from the night before were still there. Majority of the campers begin to leave around 9-10 a.m. Check-out time is at 11:00 a.m. The camp site we chose was near the bathroom but also a distance away from other campers, which was nice because you get a little more privacy but at the same time feel safe because others are still near by. Our campsite was spacious with a bench and fire pit. We did have couple trees around us, too. 

the bathrooms are clean and lit, and there is a separate sink outside for dishes which was really nice. So thankful for the rangers, they were so helpful and informative. Bryce National Park is such a beautiful place. It was nice to have North camground near some of the popular and easier hikes. Another reason to camp here, the stars! The stars were the brightest I've every seen them in my life!! Also, the brightest compared to other national park we've camped at on this trip.

Simple

This was a great campground for several reasons. First and foremost for us was that the RVs were separated from the tents. Zero generator noise was a big plus.

Secondly the campground is right along the trail. The Rim Trail runs just to the east of this campground and provides access to virtually the entire park, if you’re willing to hike far enough. We hiked the Fairland Loop Trail from our campsite, which was really nice after a 14-hour drive to get to the park. I also did the Queens Garden-Navajo Loop trails from our campsite.

The campground is also in easy walking distance to the general store (which has showers) and the Visitor’s Center. The shuttles weren’t running when we were there, but the shuttle is also very accessible from the North Campground.

The one complaint we had about the campground was the fact that the bathrooms were closed. I prefer to be way off in the backwoods with nobody and no bathrooms around me, but if I’m around other people in a developed campground that is open, I expect the bathrooms to also be open. The few days we were there in Loop C, loops A to C were all open, but only loop A had open bathrooms. This meant the walk to the bathrooms was quite far and the bathrooms were pretty busy.

Even in the off-season, April, the campground was full by walk-ins by 9am. If you plan to camp here without a reservation, plan to get there early.

Overall Bryce was by far our favorite of the Mighty Five and we can’t wait to go back!

Nice campground, amazing park!

The north campground is amazing, just a short distance from rim. We were there in early April, only Loop A was open. Most of the sites are huge, but they have enough so there's a chance you'll get one that will fit in. The Restrooms are clean, but they have no showers. Amazing views, nice and quiet. There's a camp store thats a short walk away and is well equipped. It's not far from town so if you need other things it's an easy trip.

Great campground

We went in March, and it was chilly. With adverse weather rolling in we only stayed a night but the campground was nice. The bathrooms were warm (which is important when it is less than 20 degrees). Sites were close together but each one had a fire pit and picnic table. Definitely planning another trip to Bryce, would love to go in May or June.

Clean and convenient 

This campground is by far the best in the park! You are only a 5 minute max walk from the beautiful rim trail no matter where you're at in the campground, which is amazing for an early hike to watch the sunrise! Most people only spend one day there so the site turnover is quick but your chances of a spot after 3pm are slim. The earlier you get there the better your chances are for getting a site and possibly a really good site! There is lots of big beautiful trees for shade, nice fire pits with a grill, picnic table, running water restrooms &amp; utility sink for dish washing. The only downside and why I didn't give them a 6 star rating is the fact that you can't hang anything from the trees. No hammocks, clothes lines, trash bags etc. This is new this year and I really hope it doesn't stick. The campsite host comes by way too often (every half an hour) which got old as well.

Great location

Great place to stay! Perfect location. Walking distance to Sunrise and Sunset Points. The nicest bathrooms I've ever seen in a campground. :) Quiet. Lots of trees and shade. There was a fire ban and we ended up getting rained out but we still loved our trip to Bryce. Late summer is the rainy season but late spring and early fall would probably be the best times to go without worry about lightning up on the canyon ledges.

Amazing! Easy access to the rim trail and spacious spots with plenty of shade. One of my favorite campgrounds within the National Parks. Showers and supplies available at the general store.

Cool and close to the rim

This is a self check in campsite, you need to go find your spot then go back to the entrance and pay for your spot. Make sure you get all your tags right. We endedicated up picking the perfect spot were we can see straight up to the universe. That night there was a meteor shower, just amazing. We ended up making new friends, enjoying the long weekend and having a great time. I truly recommend hiking pick a boo trail. Take plenty of water and be prepared to make several stops to be able to enjoy the scenery. Can't wait to do it again.

Larger campground with several loops off of the main hwy in Bryce. These campgrounds have some good privacy and good distance between sites.

Large campground 

We loved Bryce! This campground was huge! With so much close by this campground was hard to pass up, we visited the queens garden trail which was spectacular but super  super crowded. The visitor center was also really nice, be sure to pick up your Junior ranger book on your way into the park if you have kiddos. The book gives them a chance to learn and earn a nifty Junior ranger badge by completing age appropriate tasks along their journey. There was a Market inside of Zion that had everything for hiking, hydration and camping galore. I would highly recommend making your reservations 2 weeks ahead of time the campgrounds fill up fast during the peak season. Overall great experience! 

Bryce Canyon camping

This is a very nice campground.  Most of the sites have shade.  2 of the loops are tents only, which is where we stayed.  Right now, this is the only campground open in the park.  The other one (Sunset) is closed for repairs.  The campground filled up by noon on most of the days, though we left on a Sunday and it was pretty empty at 10:30 am.   I would recommend getting to the campground between 9:30 am and 11:00 am to find a site, then pitch your tent or set out chairs!  This is reduce any confusion as to whether the site has been registered and paid for.  Also, grab a registration envelope as you enter the campground, so once you have pitched your tent or set out chairs, you can pay as you leave to go explore the park.  This is in walking distance to the General Store and the Visitor Center.  The park has a shuttle that helps to get around the park.  Lastly, the General Store has showers ($3 for 8 minutes)

This is a great campground

This was my first time camping at this campground. There was snow everywhere, and quite a few available spaces. The spaces are decently far apart, and the bathroom facilities are warm and clean.￼ (Theres warm water from the faucets and the toilets flush). This place is like a winter wonderland if you come during or after a snowfall.  Breathtakingly beautiful.

What an amazing camp ground, gorgeous views on the trails especially on the one trail for dogs. We were on site 78, perfect views of the stars at night and by far the best looking site it’s right on a little ledge perfect for your tent great shade around the picnic table! We had the greatest few days here definitely looking forward to coming back here. 🧡

D 78

First come first serve site but on the Thursday morning before Labor Day weekend we had no trouble finding a spot. Site is really close to a general store and trailheads and great to easily walk to see a sunrise/sunset. Sites are kind of close to each other so not a ton of privacy and rocky so we had trouble staking our tent. But bathrooms were very clean!

Easy to find a place!

Large campsite area with 101 campsites.  I believe loop A is for RV's only?  There are loops B,C &amp; D for tents. Campsites are spacious and you do not feel like your neighbors are right up against you.  I would absolutely camp here again.  Trails are nearby. Flush toilets, potable water, picnic tables and fire rings.

Beautiful

I’be stayed here for the past few days and have loved it!

While this is a first come, first serve campground, the sites generally fill up later in the morning/ early afternoon. I’ve been to campgrounds where you have to be there by like 7 am to claim a spot, but this seems a little more lax. That being said, the spots have filled up *every night*, so if you arrive later in the afternoon or early evening, you will most likely come up empty handed.

I stayed in Loop D, where vehicles over 20 feet are not allowed, so it’s great for tent camping! There is a bathroom facility within the loop, but it only has one sink and no soap provided. I’ve not run into a traffic jam at “prime teeth brushing time,” but just a heads up. There are several water spigots around the loop and a dish washing sink outside of the bathroom.

The fire rings are really nice here and the picnic tables are metal, which makes for easy sanitization.

The camp store within the park is great for basic necessities, but lacks in the “real food” department, as does the local store in town (Ruby’s), so I would suggest stocking up on food before arriving.

There is a trail right at the entrance to Loop D that will take you to the Rim Trail. Once you’re on Rim, it’s .25 miles to the Tower Bridge Trail and .5 miles to Sunrise Point.

Just a head’s up that if you’re planning to check out Sunset Campground if North Campground is full: Sunset is pretty much reservations only. You might luck out and get something, but I drove through and even talked to the camp host and they were booked solid with reservations for weeks to come.

Just a few steps from the canyon rim!

Camped here in early November. It was cold in the early morning and evening. A lovely campsite. Nice and quiet. We had a little trail leading to the rim trail at the back of our campsite. 

Cold

The North campground is located inside Bryce Canyon National Park and is first come, first serve only. This is an excellent, clean site to stay if you’re going to spend your day exploring the park. I highly recommend getting here very early in the morning (check-out time is 11:30 am) to grab a spot or you may find yourself scrambling for a site outside the park. Bring cash to pay for your site ($20 for tents/cars). Every site has a very nice fire pit with grill grate and clean bathrooms nearby (with heat!)

This quickly became one of our favorite campgrounds. It’s right next to the canyon so you can walk for about 2 min to get to a beautiful view. There is a utility sink which always makes life easier and really great bathrooms. There are also coin-operated showers and laundry at the general store which is wonderful if you’re getting a bit stinky. 

AMAZING

A great example of an NPS campground. First come first serve. We had no problem finding a spot at 5:30pm in early July. We picked a spot in loop A to fit our 30ft RV. Right behind us is a little trail that leads up the hill to an awesome overlook over Bryce NP. Highly recommended!

We did not expect to find a site at Bryce Canyon, but hit the jackpot with a wonderful FCFS pull-through site in the North Campground.  The sites are tucked into cozy piney woods that belies the massive red, rocky hoodoos just a few yards away in the amphitheater.  It was our first dry camp experience, but they had wonderful bathroom facilities just a short walk away that were immaculately clean. It's a quiet, relaxing setting listening to the wind rustle through the trees. The temp during the day was around 70 in mid-June and it dipped into the high 40s at night which made the experience of no electricity cozy and cuddly. Just a short walk away, you can access the breath-taking amphitheater. We have never seen anything like it! The whole Bryce Canyon experience was a bucket-list check. As a disabled person, we found the campground and park so accommodating. The Scenic Drive afforded many dynamic viewpoints that only required a few steps to get the full experience. The camp hosts were particularly helpful during our stay and generator use was allowed at two different 2-hour periods. There was an unfortunate family dispute that happened in a neighboring RV that was peacefully handled with a quick full response from the park staff. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED CAMPGROUND! Be aware that there are two rock arches on the road you must go through to enter Bryce Canyon. They say the clearance is 13' 5", but I think that must be referring to the lower portion of the arch since we cleared it by several feet. It may be necessary for some rigs to occupy the center of the road, however, so double check on this before planning on staying at the Bryce Canyon campgrounds. There are other private campgrounds available closeby that do not require the RV to go under those arches.

Awesome Campground!

This is the normal campground inside a national park...Definitely not dispersed. It was very clean and well kept. Campsites were average for what it is. We have a truck camper &amp; used loop B, site 48- we were the only campers in the loop at this time, the campground was fairly empty mid July, (loop A, the larger RV area was the most populated) . Generators are allowed in this loop at certain times. 
I prefer a more remote or dispersed camp but this was inside the park &amp; easy to hike Bryce in the morning. It worked for us but I would think if it was full there wouldn't be much privacy in most spots.

We got to the campground early and found a decent site.  This is a first come first serve campground.  Check it out before going to the  Sunset campground.

North campground was a great find!

I chose this campground instead of dispersed camping around Bryce due to fire restrictions on BLM and USNFS. The sites are a bit close to each other’s but except for that great spot, you are 2 minutes walking distance from the rim and endless trails. Restrooms were clean. 

Right on the rim

This is a great campground in the trees to begin your adventure at Bryce Canyon National Park. It's right after you enter the gates on the left hand side. It's first come first serve and I would suggest getting here early. We arrived around 1 p.m. midweek and by 4 p.m. all the spots seemed to be taken. $20 per site for tents or camper vans, $30 for RVs. Put your money in the envelope kind of place. Worked great for us. Beware, in fall it can get chilly!!

I have come here twice and been able to easily find a spot for my RV.

**Particularly challenging for those who camp in tent**s due to the uneven grading and poor site maintenance. Loops C &amp; D are for tents except in the off season where allRV's and tents are lumped together in Loop A--- or A &amp; B --- which is a loop best suited to RV's. Many tent sites are very small.

Flush toilets are good in this campground.

If you are in a tent, problems abound in this campground. Decent tent sites in Loop D are 93, 95, 97,98,99, 101. D is better than Loop C.

North Campground is only campground open year round, which brought us here. Due to winter closures only loop A was open to first come / first serve. Glad we got here early on a Tuesday morning since all sites were snatched up quickly. Sites were well spaced to reduce noise.  $20/night for tents. Easy access to park.  We had cell coverage at campsite. 

Great spot within Bryce Canyon NP

We stayed here for 5 days in mid March while visiting the park. At that time, the campground was first come first serve and we had no issue finding a site. We parked next to a water spigot, so we had no issue keeping our water full. We have 860W of solar on the roof of our RV and still had some issue keeping batteries charged due to weather and all of the tree cover at the site. Generator hours are allowed 2 hours in the morning and afternoon, so that was helpful. Cell service with ATT and Verizon were both good here.

  

Overall a nice spot, but cost $30/night with no hookups, which seems a little high to me. Also the dump site was closed for winter. Would definitely recommend this campground for visiting Bryce Canyon!

Good Location but Nothing Fancy

Loved our site. Looked over a field. Could see visitor center and bike path.  Easy walk to catch bus. Do bus tour first to see highlights then do hike from Sunrise point through Navajo and Wall Street.  That was a great hike on a cold and windy day. Toilets very clean.

Great campground close to visitor center

We arrive on a Tuesday around 3 PM in a 23ft Class B RV on a first-come, first-served basis and had no problem finding a site (#6) in loop A - the only campground open right now with several feet of snowpack in all other camp areas. The available sites were all paved, RV pull through, but definitely not level and close together (though not an issue for us as there were only a handful of other hearty souls dispersed around the loop). I wouldn’t want to come in her right now in a RV much bigger than 24ft due to the snow, ice and lack of level sites. Registration and payment via envelope and Dropbox at campground entrance. I paid $15/night on my Lifetime Senior InterAgency Pass. Very clean, heated bathroom and utility room which we appreciated as temps are single digits with wind gusts rocking the RV as I type this. No electric hook ups and water spigots, RV dump &amp; Lodge all closed for the winter but facilities /groceries/accessories are available just outside the park entrance (Ruby’s General Store &amp; Sinclair Gas). Short distance to all major scenic overlooks of the hoodoos in Bryce Amphitheater and associated hikes. Consider ice grips for your footwear if you plan on hiking this time of year, though many people said it was manageable with good hiking shoes. Would definitely stay here again.

Awesome place to camp if your visiting Bryce NP. Our site was level, pull thru, no hookups. Bathrooms were fine, showers available w/in walking distance at store. Walk to rim of the canyon. Quiet campground with lots of tall evergreen trees. Beautiful. Be ready to reserve 6 months ahead (to the minute!) Will sell out in an hour

Quiet campground in NP

This is a nice campground with great access to trailheads and beautiful views of the night sky. The one issue is that our site had absolutely no level spots whatsoever, so we ended up setting up our tents in the parking bay. Otherwise, lovely stay overall - recommended for Bryce adventures!

Lovely spot - no level area though

This campground is located right within the Bryce Canyon National Park. Walking distance to the visitors center and great access point for the rim trail, which takes you to several other trails within the park. These are non electric sites but do accommodate RV’s and tents. Generator hours are from 8am-10am and again from 6pm-8pm. There is an area at the restrooms to wash your dishes. Bathrooms do not have any kind of hand soap or sanitizer so come prepared. No showers or laundry at this campground. 

Nice national park campground

Cool campground! Clean, not too windy, and beautiful snow-covered forest during our stay. Facilities were very clean. Great location to kick off a trip into Bryce.
