Burr Trail Rd Dispersed Camping

A fishing lake in the North Creek Lakes area. The Department of Wildlife Resourses of Utah (DWR) stocks this lake with Brook Trout. Other fishing lakes near Upper Barker Reservoir are Flat Lake , Yellow Lake , Joe Lay Reservoir , Blue Lake , Lower Barker Reservoir , and Dougherty Basin . To hike to these lakes see the Barker Lakes Loop .

## Overview

Lower Bowns Campground is located on the east side of Boulder Mountain on the shore of Lower Bowns Reservoir at an elevation of 7,000 feet. Visitors enjoy boating, fishing and exploring local trails.

## Recreation

Popular activities in the area include hiking, biking, hunting and riding the Rosebud ATV Trail. Lower Bowns Reservoir offers boating, canoeing and fishing for rainbow, brook and cutthroat trout.

## Facilities

This campground contains three accessible sites: one group site can accommodate up to 50 people, and two single sites can each accommodate up to 10 people.   
  
Vault toilets are provided, and roads and parking spurs throughout the site are gravel.

## Natural Features

The campground is sparsely forested with pinyon pines and juniper, which offer only limited shade. Boulder Mountain lies to the west of the site, and Capitol Reef National Park's Waterpocket Fold and the Henry Mountains lie to the east. 

## Nearby Attractions

Capitol Reef National Park is just 45 minutes from the campground. This unique park offers excellent hiking trails, historic sites and breathtaking scenery.  
  
Sightseeing along Utah Highway 12, a National Scenic Byway, is very popular. Travelers visit from every corner of the world to gaze upon stunning red rock canyons and desert landscapes.

Lone Rock Beach Primitive Camping Area

Centrally located at Wahweap Marina about ¼ mile from the shore of Lake Powell. Wahweap offers plenty of fun with a wide variety of powerboats and water toys from which to choose. You can also enjoy the restaurant, lounge, Wahweap Grille, Wind and gift shop at the Lake Powell Resort. This RV Park/Campground is also a great place to enjoy the winter solitude of Lake Powell. 112 dry campsites (no hook-ups), 139 full hook-ups, and 6 group camping sites. Facilities include restrooms, laundry, showers, store, phones, dump station and potable water. The amphitheater, picnic area and swim beach are nearby. To make reservations for full hook-ups, group or dry camping please visit www.lakepowell.com or call 800-528-6154. The Wahweap camping store is 928-645-1059. Fees vary. ADA Access: All sites and pathways to restrooms, showers, etc are paved and mostly flat. Showers, restrooms, check-in/campground store, amphitheater are all ADA compliant.

Paria  River Ranch offers world class trails and some of the most unique riding in the Paria Canyon, Vermillion Cliffs and Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument.  Full RV hookup camping is available, plus dry camping and rustic cabins. We are under new ownership and doing some updates around the ranch. Please come visit us at this magical place. Paria River Ranch

This site is on the Riggs Spring Loop 1.6 miles (2.6 km) from Rainbow Point. There is reliable water in the stream below the pumphouse that is just below the campsite. There are Aspens, Ponderosa Pines and Blue Spruce at the site as well as good views of the pink cliffs and out into the Grand Staircase.
