With all the craziness this year, we took a chance and just headed west to the Great Salt Lake desert.
Headed west on I-80 we drove to the Lakeside exit and went left on the frontage road for about 15mi.
Found a good side road that headed east back towards the lake and just drove.
This land is more that sparse it is desolate and could be very hazardous to those unprepared or not taking the area seriously.
There is zero water and very little firewood so those must be brought in, and food is a long way off.
If you venture out onto the flats be hyper aware of the conditions, getting stuck could be a very expensive experience.
Camping is a great experience, billions of stars and a surreal ambiance.
It got cold, so bring appropriate clothing and bedding, and plenty of wood.
Again be very vigilant to conditions and weather as help can be a long ways off.
Pack out what you pack in, and enjoy.
