## Overview

 Bridges Campground is located in beautiful Huntington Canyon, along the Huntington Canyon National Scenic Byway on Utah Highway 31. It is situated at an elevation of approximately 8,700 feet. Many recreational activities are available, including hiking, biking, scenic driving, and fishing. 
## Recreation

 Popular activities include fishing, hunting, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, rock climbing and scenic driving. Huntington Creek is a Blue Ribbon fishery, offering high quality fishing for brown, cutthroat and rainbow trout. The 4-mile Left Fork of the Huntington National Recreation Trail is nearby and open to hikers and horseback riders. The 10-mile Fish Creek Trail, for hiking, biking and horseback riding is also close by. Although horses are not allowed in the campground, two hitching racks are provided just across the highway.
## Facilities

 The campground offers one group campsite that can accommodate groups of up to 30 people. Four single-family campsites are also available. Vault toilets are provided, but there is no drinking water or electricity. There are no garbage services offered within the campground, so be prepared to \"pack it in and pack it out\". Roads and parking spurs are dirt. 
## Natural Features

 Large spruce trees and aspens cover the campground, offering plentiful shade. Huntington Creek runs alongside the campground. The canyon area has numerous lakes and streams, vibrant summer wildflowers, colorful fall foliage and abundant wildlife. 
## Nearby Attractions

 The Huntington Canyon National Scenic Byway is part of the 86-mile Energy Loop. It offers stunning mountain and lake views as it tops 10,000 feet in elevation. The historic Stuart Guard Station Visitor Center is nearby, offering a glimpse of the 1930s life of a ranger and his family who once lived there. Exhibits of Civilian Conservation Corps projects and original equipment are on display. Area information is available as well.

Bridges Campground

Located on the creek and to the north of the road from the Bridges Campground is a two spot family campground. The spot is first come, first serve with a check out time of 1:00 PM. Cost is $5 per vehicle per night with a fee station at the sign. Because of the proximity to the creek and lack of pit toilets on this side of the road, campers must have black/grey tanks. 

The creek is absolutely beautiful and the upper spot has a nice fire ring and picnic table while the lower spot has a fire ring only. The only drawback is the dead timber present in the whole canyon from a 2012 wildfire. 

Great Family Location - Bridges Creekside

The campground no longer looks like the pictures. Im guessing the spring run off damaged the creek because there is now a huge valley with the river running through it.  There is a waterfall flowing over exposed bedrock at the top of the campsite that is cool though. There are downed trees everywhere and  excavation all around the opening to the campground that look like berms. 

  

I would only recommend site 3 if your'e bringing a trailer. We were in site 1 and the parking spot was very slanted and we had to re-level or trailer daily because the ground was very soft. Site 4 no longer appears to be present. The area where I think site 4 used to be is very soft and the ground gives slightly under your steps. Site 2 might work if you have a very small trailer but the parking would be very hard for a larger one. Sites 2 and 3 would be best for tents as site 1 is very sloped.

  

We did have a visit from some coyotes while we were there. First we heard them up on the ridge but they were brave enough to come into the campground very near us with a our fire going so we just went inside for the night.

  

The campground was mostly open while we were there and we enjoyed the quiet and solitude. The images are from just up hill of site 3.
