About This Campground

Big Mountain Campground has a rich history of family traditions, scenic views, and timeless nostalgia. Established in 1970 this inviting campground was started by two loving people, Jim and Carolyn Ockey. Through its many names changes: Horse Shoe Bar Ranch, Ranch Camp, KOA Campground, Camperworld Nebo Loop, and now Ockey’s Big Mountain Campground, the intention has stayed the same, a friendly, inviting, enjoyable campground. Whether you’re family oriented, resort searching or camping bound, we provide the perfect situation for you to create everlasting memories. A place you can sit back, relax, and enjoy. The basis that friends and family are key, is still the focused belief. So come join us for the stay of your dreams, the time of your life, the place you’ll always remember…Ockey’s Big Mountain Campground. This beautiful park is located just five miles east of Nephi, UT in Salt Creek Canyon. Off exit 225 go east on Highway 132(approx. 5 miles). The resort is on the south side of the highway. At the base of the notorious Nebo Loop Scenic Byway, Big Mountain Campground shares the same breathtaking views. You will enjoy the rustic atmosphere with many amenities and fun-filled activities.
