Beautiful views
Very well kept camp spots. Each has a fire pit with grill on it. Our spot, 16, has a beautiful view of the mountains on the other side of the highway. Only downside, is the road noise from being so close to the highway. Pit toilets and water are available, we paid $20 for a single spot in September. Very close to the Snake River too
Great Location
My boyfriend and I wanted to visit the Tetons, but finding camping near the park over 4th of July weekend was impossible. This campsite is the perfect distance away from the Tetons so you don’t get all the touristy traffic but close enough to drive in!
It’s alright for sure!
This campground is a standard National Forest campground, first come first serve, water spigot, vault toilet, bear box, fire pit, and one of those insane composite picnic tables. Good sized sites with privacy, great views of the canyon.
Make sure to check the dates on the slips on the posts if you think the sites are all full, there were a lot of empty sites with old slips still hung up on the posts, making them appear claimed. Also, this campsite is very close to the highway. Perfect if you are looking to stop for the night on a trip, but pretty noisy.
We woke up to a full grown bull moose in our campsite. It was scary but also funny and cool. The camp host came the night before and told us the moose was nearby and pointed him out to us in the distance.
