Overview
Leigh Creek Campground is located about 35 miles east of Worland, Wyoming, on the west side of scenic Cloud Peak Skyway, near the Cloud Peak Wilderness area. Located in the Bighorn National Forest, visitors to the area enjoy a wide variety of activities including hiking, fishing, scenic driving, and a number of historic sites. The administering organization is Gallatin Canyon Campgrounds; e-mail: gccampgrounds13@gmail.com
Recreation
Off-highway vehicle trails, scenic jeep roads, hiking and additional fishing streams are available in the surrounding area. Diverse hikes vary from loop trails to treks along creeks and over mountain peaks; many trails access the Cloud Peak Wilderness, which is 14 miles northeast of the campground. Meadowlark Lake is about 11 miles from the campground. This small lake allows motorized craft at a wake-less speed. West Tensleep Lake is 14 miles northeast of the campground and is open to non-motorized craft only. Both lakes are great locations for canoeing and fishing.
Facilities
The campground offers several single-family sites, each equipped with a picnic table and campfire ring with grill. Vault toilets, drinking water from a hand pump, and trash collection are provided. The nearest dump station is 22 miles away at Powder River Pass.
Natural Features
The campground sits on the banks of Tensleep Creek surrounded by a forest of lodgepole pine. Many lakes and streams are found in the surrounding Bighorn Mountains.
Nearby Attractions
The High Park Lookout is located just east of Meadowlark Lake. This old fire lookout was built by the CCC decades ago and is no longer active. A short hike leads to the lookout, where hikers are awarded panoramic views of the surrounding area. Deer Haven Lodge and Meadowlark Lodge are nearby, offering dining options, lodging, guided horseback riding and fishing and camping supplies.

Host on Site drinking water trash pit toilets This campground is very small with small sites so it is more appropriate from small vans or very small trailers. I liked sites 4, 5, and 6. They are right on the creek. I prefer site 4.
Leigh Creek has drinking water and some sites have picnic tables and fire rings. This camp is great if you like to hike or rock climb. Just outside the camp you will find many VERY small disbursed sites along the gravel road, very dusty. Some road noise a lot of traffic on the gravel road..
Directions: From Ten Sleep drive 7.6 miles on Highway 16 to FSR 18. Bear right and travel one mile to the campground on the right.

Amazing campground!
We arrived around 8 Pm on a Thursday night, and luckily there were two cancellations so we were able to stay in spot 1 and 2. The owner was extremely sweet and helpful. Our campsites were perfect. We loved the privacy and space we had. The rest rooms were the cleanest we’ve seen. I truly enjoyed our one night stay and we will return.
