Upper Hillsborough Preserve — Alston Tract

We hiked out to the Backcountry site only to find someone there. We made a reservation days in advance, so this person was not supposed to be there. They weren't at the site for us to ask to leave, nor did we really feel comfortable doing so as two women. From the looks of the set up, it appeared as if the camper may be living there. The site is nice, but they clearly do not monitor who's there.

We stayed here for a few nights but our reservations were cut short due to flooding. Small enclosed area for tent and RV camping. Shaded pavillion and a few fire rings. Port a Potry was however atrocious. Good thing there is a Circle K just down the raod a few miles. Downside is that locals drive thru the turnaroind at all hours of the night and the roads are in bad repair.

nice and quiet, i use a quiet run generator and bring in 50 gallons of fresh water for weekend stays. the drive is very rough due to teenagers mudding out there.
