I think it depends on where you choose to stay

There are three different camping units to the park. Dry camping on one side of the dry lake. Two sections for camping on the other side of the lake RV section for OHV traffic. And then a tent RV section on the other side. Only one full bathroom with showers the rest are pet toilets. The upper…

5G & Not enough shade

We are traveling in a 27ft Class C motorhome, we booked site #15 which was a pull though. With a 'American the Beautiful Pass' we only had to pay $10 a night for water and electric hook-ups. Okay..

Did have RV hookups. The lake is dried so don't expect a lake. Did see lots of fireflies :)

Directions

From Alanreed, TX take I-40 west 6.5 miles to Lake McClellan Recreation Area/Farm Rd. 2477 signs at Exit 128. Bear right at exit sign and go to the stop sign. Turn right onto Rd. 2477 (narrow paved two lane) and go 2.3 miles to campground's first section (tent-only) or 3.1 miles to campground sign and second section (combined sites). Turn left at sign and go 0.1 mile to a "Y" intersection. Bear right and go 0.3 miles to campground.
