Fish hawk campground is awesome!
We stayed in the campground called fish hawk. We paid $10 for the site and it was right next to the river. We were tucked in. Right next to the river and the bathroom. There is even garbage dumpsters at the campground @. Overall this is a great site and worth the money!

Great quiet place to visit
Our experience here was great. The map is misleading a bit. There is a public boat launch with camp sites all over. These sites are dispersed with little to no contract between camp sites. We stayed at what I thought was the south campground... basically 150 yds from the boat launch. The vault toilets were very well cared for and didn't have the typical smells and lingering posits that make this type of accommodation so memorable. A few little connecting trails that you can walk around... but not much that we found for hiking; just walking down the road mostly. The lake was cold but refreshing on a hot day. Overall a great little place to visit again.

Make this camp great again
The map is slightly misleading, all of these sites are signed as clear lake campground and not all are group sites. The group sites were closed when we came, and the rest were free. Truly lovely dispersed sites, most with waterfront. Large and lovely sites. Initially I thought we arrived and snagged the best one, a massive double decker site along the river where we could wade and watch fish rising for a hatch. A walk around showed me that all the sites are like that. Score! We came during August 2020, and although the sites were open, the pit toilets were closed. Unfortunately, Campers had been leaving trash and toilet paper strewn about, And signage indicated that the forest service is considering closing this campground due to these practices. We were saddened to see a lot of garbage, especially close to the river. We spent time cleaning up trash and burying toilet paper flowers, But by the time we left We could not fix it all. that is the only reason I am giving this three instead of five stars. I hope this place survives the carnage, it is truly beautiful.
