About
Michigan and watersports go hand-in-hand. Rifle River Resort in Sterling offers the unique benefit of being located right on the Rifle River. Within the resort, you can rent canoes or tubes. Hop onto the bus and we'll take you to your starting point on the river and you can row or float you way right back to the resort! Once you've spent your day on the water, you can enjoy all that the resort has to offer. Relax in the hot tub or pool. Fish on the river bank or at the pond. Shoot some hoops or join in on the fun with our activities staff and other guests. Then head to your campsites or rental unit, start your campfire, roast marshmallows, and enjoy the company of your family and friends!

GuideTerrible Excuse for a “Resort”
They charge per person, so I paid $75 for my boyfriend and I to tent camp on the river for the 2 night minimum required. They are money grubbers who charge per person then put multiple parties on one site. Firewood available on site is soaking wet so had a lot of issues getting a fire started. Not much to do at the campground unless you want to pay an arm and a leg to rent one of their watercraft. Staff is incredibly rude and unhelpful. Everything they offer is an extra charge. Will not be returning here ever again.

We loved how convenient it was to get on the river right from the campground! We went canoeing and it was a blast! However, they have so many staff that are rolling through the park as security and they seem to be a bit rude. I feel as if they should’ve had more cleaning personal rather than so many security.
