Umpqua National Forest
This campground offers excellent scenery. Although Steamboat Creek is closed to all fishing, summer visitors often see large steelhead trout attempting to jump the falls during their spawning runs. The campground is on the other side of Steamboat Creek from Steamboat Road. Towering fir trees shade the campsites, making it feel as if you are further away from the North Umpqua Highway. The trailhead for the 5.5-mile Mott segment of the North Umpqua Trail is about 6 miles southwest of the campground. Facilities 7 campsites with picnic tables and fire pits 3 tent campsites with picnic tables and fire pits No drinking water Horseshoe pits Baseball fields Vault toilet Garbage disposal

Best view around
This is park as minimal amenities, and is pretty far away from anything. The reason to come here is the swimming and the beauty. Site 4 has the best view in the park and it is always the first to go, only down fall is people walk next to it to go to the water and can be rude, but mostly are pretty good. If you want privacy you’re not getting it in this site, but there are smaller sites that offer that. There are vaulted toilets and a small day use area. There is a jumping rock and a few small swimming pools for the kids, great swimming for everyone.
Great swimming, Great views
Steamboat is my favorite local spot. The swimming is so nice, there is something to do for every age and swimming ability. The spots are good sized and most of them have good privacy. It is on Steamboat rd, and the good thing about this Campground, If it is full, there are about 15 dispersed campsites past steamboat on the main road.
