Several hiking trails dot the area, including Stahlman Point Trail, which offers beautiful vistas of Detroit Lake and the surrounding area. Sites have picnic tables, grills and easy access to the vault toilets. Drinking water spigots are spread throughout the campground. Most campsites offer views of the lake. Santiam Flats does not have a boat launch ramp. Some of the sites are adjacent to the shoreline and mooring is allowed.

Meh, It's fine

Pros: Big sites, room for extra cars, close the recreation especially Detroit Lake, nice camp host, close to town if you need something.

Cons: On. The. Highway! The sound of semi trucks through the night is not peaceful. Bathrooms were ok, not great.

Dry, not very private.

Good campground. The other campgrounds in this area are more forested and that's why this one gets 3 stars. I like trees. However, we were there for the eclipse and I got what I wanted. Nicer vault toilets, blackberry picking, wildlife viewing. Nice open beach area.
