O'leno State Park Campground

Had a great time at site 16. Went to the see the river sink then rode our bike on the green and orange trails to river rise. Did a canoe trip on the nearby Ichetucknee river, not very busy this time of year. The campground was a bit tight for backing in, but manageable. Bathrooms were cleaned daily and not too shabby. Make sure to bring tick spray.

They called the night before we arrived to let us know which slot we would be in. We arrived and it’s a beautiful setting. There were campers right next to us with a charcoal fire that they had used starter fluid on and the smell was overwhelming. Some of the sites are farther apart than the others. I would have given it 5 stars if we hadn’t been so close together and had that unfortunate smell to deal with.

Beautiful campground. Very rustic. Unpaved roads with potholes that may not be bad at other times but we were there on a rainy day so it was a bit of a rough ride getting to our site. Probably a bit tight getting in if you are in a big rig but it was no problem in our van. Sites are natural but maintained and not terribly overgrown. The park itself is absolutely lovely.
