About

This campground is a climbers' paradise. It is 7 miles south of Red River Gorge, an area that offers over 3,500 bolted rock climbing routes. If you're interested in continuing your climbing escapade, you can also visit Pendergrass-Murry Recreational and Preserve Muir Valley, two more outstanding climbing destinations. While visiting Land of The Arches, you'll have the opportunity to visit nearby Daniel Boone National Park and Natural Bridge State Park for hiking, fishing and wildlife watching.

The campground has 99 sites with up to 51 guests per site. It is a large piece of land and is great for boy scouts. There is also a "hangar" which has a foosball table, ping pong, air hockey and free wifi.

Due to liability issues we are a no pet campground.

Tent Camping is $8 per person per night. Indoor camping (bring your own bedroll is $10 per person per night). For indoor camping, you must reserve online.

Lota is 5 minutes away from Muir Valley and 10 minutes away from Pendergrass Murray Nature Preserve (PMRP). We are right where you want to be.

Great for climbers

Good bathrooms great cleaning area camp sites are not designated you just put a tent where you want and sleep over all good time

No Frills Climbers Mecca Campground

Land of the Arches is popular among climbers and boy scout troups. The hanger is an excellent place for hanging out and meeting new people. Ping pong and pickleball courts keep everyone entertained. Good wifi is provided within the hangar.

LOTA is close to a lot of hiking trails and climbing. We did an 8-mile kayak down the Red River. Tons to do outdoors in this area of the Red River Gorge.

Buy groceries before getting to this campground. The nearest grocery store is a SAVE-A-LOT, 20 minutes away.

Hookup was 30 amp. No water hookup but water is available onsite for your freshwater tank. Dump site also provided.

Bathrooms are in the hanger and clean and well lit at night.

Great car camping

This is in the heart of the Red River Gorge and super close to Muir Valley. Great climbing campground that is fairly affordable ($8 per person per night). The only thing is they don't allow dogs, except at the annual Rocktoberfest festival.
