Honey Bear Campground

I loved staying here this summer. I took my two boys and we tent camped on a full hookup spot. Mainly got it because it was on the creek, but walking around I could of did partial hookup and have some good views. Bathhouse was clean and didn’t feel stuffy which I liked. Workers were friendly and they hosted events. Fishing in the pond was great. Our campsite wasn’t the original one we picked but I didn’t care I actually preferred the new one. Except there was a leak coming from a pipe that made my spot get wet in one area. I definitely would love to come back.

I’m giving it a 3 star because it’s in a good area close to Boone and the fact we had privacy due to the foliage. We stayed by the creek which was nice to hear. However, the owners were never around, the office was never open, and the coffee shop might as well have never been open or exist because the office always closed. Never seen anyone and we got there Sunday, October 2nd at 2pm and stayed until Wednesday, October 5th and left at 10am and never seen anyone in the office.

I went to school at App State and was excited to enjoy Boone again! My friend and I took my pop-up and stayed at spot B12. The campground was extremely helpful and kind. The bathrooms are conveniently located from B12–just a lovely bridge over a creek walk away. You’re so close to the town of Boone, but it doesn’t feel like it at all when you’re secluded under the canopy of the trees. The weather was amazing in July—warm during the day and cool and brisk at night.
