Good for florida

Waze, google, and Apple Maps are all wrong. To get to the camp site:

  1. go to the Circle K linked below

https://goo.gl/maps/qCoojcRZWhjXTjC77

  1. use google maps walking directions to get to Flying Eagle Preserve. Essentially just head east down Eden Dr across the bike path and keep going straight

Definitely an “is what it is” spot, similar to the rest of Florida camping

Campgrounds were clean when I was there and the portable toilets were being refreshed once every couple of weeks

Assuming the other campers are considerate (not a given in these free water management lands in my experience), the only noise pollution is from air boats on the nearby swamp river, but this dies down at maybe 10 or 11 pm ET and mostly only on weekend nights

Not much to do and underwhelming scenery (again, Florida camping, you’re there for 50 degree winter nights, not the dramatic vistas) but plenty of land to run and hike about on. This is probably the best free water management site I’ve stayed at so far. I’ve been pretty severely irritated in one way or another by the others I’ve been able to get reservations on
