Lots of spots

One of the larger campgrounds on the island. Lots of first come sites and most with shelters. The campground was a little bit of a maze to navigate and is a popular base campground as you can stay 3 consecutive nights, so finding room may be a challenge during peak season. There are no fires allowed in the campground so no fire ring provided. There is shore access and a dock, so getting water to filter is fairly easy. Our site had ample trees for hanging some hammocks and was very relaxing to listen to the water while reading a book in the hammock. Vault toilets are provided throughout the campground. One of the prettier campgrounds we stayed at. Squirrels and foxes were spotted here so keep an eye on your food and any trash as they are bold and will approach with you sitting right there.

Daisy is Big and Busy, But Still Pretty Good

Not my favorite campground on Isle Royale due to its size and popularity. There's a good chance you won't get your first-choice site, you can end up quite far from a water source, and some open meadow can make you feel closer to other groups. Still beautiful, has fire rings, has a shelter/pavilion, just not as secluded as others.

Easy access to a refreshing dip in the lake

It’s a very popular and crowded site. Decent vault toilets but the dock and walkouts to the rocky beach make for easy access to the water. After hiking in from West Chickenbone, we were in need of cool swim as the interior of the island can be much warmer than the coast, not to mention the arid conditions throughout making it difficult to find water.

Having a shelter was a nice enough comfort. The place fills up quickly. It beat staying at Chickenbone but I’d prefer Moskey Basin or Three Mile.
