That’s what we like about BLM when we find gem spots like this. Spacious room to park, nice to see wild deer close by.

We pulled into this spot at 10 pm and there were only 2 other campers on site. There was plenty of parking and we got right at the base of the old ski run. We watched two separate flocks of turkeys and a large head of deer with our morning coffee and breakfast.

Remember there are no amenities but if you're self contained it's good. I think the best way to describe in a nutshell is a large circular parking lot at the end of the road and base of a ski run. Well away from town but not too far out of the way.

Absolutely zero noise, beautiful scenery and milkyway clear skies. Yes, there are cow patties but only off the road.

We hadn’t camped where The Dyrt directions take you, although that was a nice spot, more so for an RV though. We camped a little down the road at a turn off. It had a fire ring but because of the ban, we couldn’t start a fire. There were several spots for a tent, maybe big enough for an RV. The campsite was against a fence, and on the other side of it were cows. It was quite close to the road but it wasn’t busy enough for it to be a problem. There were also deer and cows grazing outside of the perimeter of the fence. I’m a farmer so I loved the sound of the cows at night and in the morning, some may not like it as much.
