Beautiful scenery, not overcrowded
The lake was stunning and the water was much warmer than I expected. It wasn’t too windy for paddle boarding and we spent most of our time on the water. The spots that could be reserved online were completely booked, but we had our choice from most of the first come first serve spots.
Great rural campground

Lovely Spot nestled at the bottom of the olympics
I like this campground a fair bit and think that it’s a great spot for some good car camping. I do think the sites are a bit close together so there is a little less privacy than I personally enjoy. Directions
From Route 12 via Montesano: Turn north on Wynoochee Valley Road, 1 mile west of Montesano. Drive 35 miles on Wynoochee Valley Road and Forest Road 22 to a major intersection. Turn left to stay on FR-22. Drive a short distance and turn right on Forest Road 2294. Drive 1 mile to the campground.
