Beautiful and sad at the same time
Great camp site with close access to ample bathrooms. Shower are only located at the main office. Cold in June still. Still recovering from the Dixie fire but some hikes available. Later in the summer may be better due to more trails being open

Great place right on the Pacific Crest Trail
Because of the rules regarding bear vaults, if you are hiking the Pacific Crest Trail, you either need to hike many miles through the park or plan on staying here. You can get a permit to backcountry camp in other areas but that takes weeks in advance planning. There is a nearby resort and…
