Given how hot Lake Pills gets in the summer, this is a nice option to escape the summer's heat. It can get a bit rowdy at this campground, with lots of large groups.

Camped here many times. Awesome sites and lots of room in each site. Camp ground has its own lost launch and nice little beach area.

Directions
In Upper Lake, CA, at intersection of State Rt. 20 and Main St., take Main St. 0.9 miles to Elk Mountain Rd. (a.k.a. County Rt. 301 and Forest Rt. M1). Turn left onto Elk Mountain Rd. and go 27.1 miles to a "T" intersection. Turn right, staying on Rt. M1 and go 4.9 miles to campground sign. Turn right at sign into campground.
