Average parking lot camping outside of a NP
We had a reservation for 2 nights here, but ended up cancelling last minute because we snagged a campsite inside the park. We stopped in to make the cancellation in person. I was cancelling less than 72 hours of arrival, so I knew that I would loose my deposit based on their written cancellation policy. However, they have yet to give me a refund for the additional night outside of my deposit night and treated me as if I wasn’t owed any refund. The lady at the desk sent an email to someone to “see” if I could get the 2nd night refunded. A week later there has been no response. . We drove through the campground while we were here. While it offered hook ups and a place to park, it was pretty much a dirt parking lot outside of that.

Great location
5 minutes drive to Big Bend, and close to the country store (the only grocery store around). 360 degree beautiful views and helpful staff members. The only con is there’s a lot of dirt getting blown around and site not very level side to side.
Outside Park
This is great place to camp outside of Big Bend if you cannot find camping in the park. Camp tenting is allowed. Bathrooms are clean but showers you have to pay for. You do have access to hotel lobby which includes hot coffee.
