There are signs that say no camping…. Day use only. It’s a beautiful spot but very sad we couldn’t stay there
Primitive Road Camping
We stayed here because it was centrally located to places we wanted to visit in this section of forest and was close to the geode rockhounding area. Pulled in midday on a Saturday and only the sites near the intersection of two very busy forest service roads were available. The sites there are literally right off the road with very little privacy and we got dusted pretty good from the constant traffic. The creek was dry at the time of our visit, but it looked like some of the upper sites might've had a trickle of water and a bit more privacy. They were all, however, heavily occupied by large parties on the weekend. In retrospect, I would probably spend a little extra time and search out a site a little further off the road. There are some good looking dispersed sites down FR 64 to the west.
National Forest PRIMITIVE
Extremely basic site with no facilities...NO WATER...NO TOILETS...but it’s free and very pretty. You can drive up to your campsite and then enjoy trails, kayaks, swimming, fishing...but it’s all up to you to bring what you need and research what to do since there’s no info once you’re there. This is in the middle of nowhere, which is great if it’s what you’re after! We pretty much just hung out close to the campground enjoying the water, but there are trails galore around here. ENJOY
