This campground is located outside of Fritch at the end of Lakeview Drive off Hwy. 136. The area features both designated sites and open meadow camping. Harbor Bay also features two new trails, which are the Harbor Bay and South Turkey Creek Trails. Picnic tables, shade shelters, and grills are available. No drinking water or flush toilets; vault-evaporator toilets. A beautiful area for water activities, hiking, biking, and birding.

Harbor Bay — Lake Meredith National Recreation Area

Tucked into a low valley on the eastern shore of Lake Meredith, this campground offers tons of space for tent and small RV campers, with just a few sites that can accommodate a larger RV. There are several vault toilets and trash receptacles, but no drinking water – so plan accordingly. Sites are FREE and first-come, first-served.

The nearby boat launch is just down the hill, with a huge parking lot (our guess is that the lake gets BUSY in summer), offering some great fishing and water sport opportunities. There were a few hiking and mountain biking trails, more seemed to be on the less developed, western shore of the lake. 

The town of Fritch is less than 3 miles away with a few restaurants and a small grocery store and gas stations. Be sure to check the Alibates National Monument, just 10 miles south of town. It is super cool!

Tucked away from it all

We came on a Saturday morning were able to find a sweet single back down road ( which was not the best ) but we were fine in our Subaru , everything else in the area was packed in with campers and boats . Our site was small but we car camped and were great ! Great swim area enclosed by brush making nice private area. Major con is no trees for shade ! Free to camp though !! 

Over Crowded , but ok

We camped at site 3 in Harbor Bay. HB3 is in a small loop off the main access road with a vault toilet nearby. The FREE campsite had two other sites close by but no one else was in either of the sites the night we camped. Each site has a covered picnic area, grill, and fire pit. We had a beautiful view of the lake and easily walked down to enjoy the sunset. Other visitors were swimming, but keep in mind that the lake here has muddy access and not a sandy beach.

Nice, Clean and Free. There are two trails nearby. No potable water. Only pit toilets. They do however have picnic tables w/ roof/shade , fire ring pits and grills. Transhcans. Easy access to the water and a boat ramp. Pretty view. However, no potable water.

The boat ramp is open and great for "small" boats. **Beautiful sunsets,** picnic table, shade shelters, grills, trash cans, fire ring. There is no water, no flush toilets. This campground is more suited for tents but there is an area by the boat ramp where folks could boondock.

Amazing Sunsets

It’s beautiful here. We are at the bottom of the lake and not at the cliff where most pictures are taken. We have a dog and it felt safer here.
It’s very very windy, temperature swings 
Yand there is absolutely no reception. The connection of the Starlink is fair so if you have one you can go with that. 
Its a drive away into nothing but there is a Walmart 25 minutes away suprisingly.
