Simple, but very convenient

This is a simple campground. Easy to access and easy in and out. We liked it here - friendly, easy to work with staff. They've been very accommodative. We'll gladly stay here again.

Amazing site

This is my favorite place to camp in Texas, second only to BiBe (though I haven’t been to Palo Duro yet). A truly beautiful site. We hiked out at 11pm and the moon was so bright we almost didn’t need headlamps. Lots of bison poop, and lots of coyote howling. The sites were pretty spread out, and…

Buffalo!!!

Woke up to the Buffalo licking my tent, awesome experience. Coyotes yip at night, stars are beautiful. Showed up late and was able to set up camp and pay the next morning. Prettiest campgrounds ever

Highs and lows

Highs include beautiful views, great wildlife, shelters over the tables, big sites, and quiet environment. Lows include heavy wind, heat, and mainly no water due to a boil water notice that meant no showers and overall safety concern.

Beautiful & Hot

This campground is absolutely beautiful, and was excruciatingly hot. Given I was there one of the warmest days of the year. But no breeze, little shade.

The views are amazing and it's easy to get checked in. My dog loved hiking early hours when the sun just peeked up. Tons of views and…

Beautiful canyon

My family stayed in the Caprock Canyon state park Honey Flats loop. Stunning views of the canyon are within a short walk from the campground. The paved pad at our site was level, and there was also a sheltered picnic table at the site. All sites were very spacious and felt private. A herd of bison…

Best TX Park By Far

This park and it’s owners are amazing! Lush, open and inviting. Large spots with picnic tables for big rigs. Laundry and bathrooms near a small swimming pool. Wait until you see inside the old Cotton gin. You’ll feel like you’ve stepped back in time. Small store with cats, dogs and great…

A Spectacular Park with Surprising Scenery and Wildlife.

Created by the Red River, Caprock Canyon State Park, lies about 125 miles to the southeast of Palo Duro Canyon. While many similarities exist between the two state parks, the differences are striking. For starters, this park features the remaining heard of Southern Plains Bison (related to the…

Very quiet, very clean with a grand view of the stars.

Stopped in just for night. We arrived after dark and everyone was respecting the quiet hours. Our site was mostly level after a little adjusting. The bath house was very clean, wifi was strong and all the hookups worked great! Unfortunately their office was unexpectedly closed with no notice or…

Do not tent camp here. They mislead you and then fine you $200

Do not tent camp here. They will mislead you and then give you a huge fine!!! When we booked the campsite as a fun activity for our pandemic fatigued 6-year old granddaughter, they told me our car would be close to our campsite. We get there at 4 on a Friday afternoon in November and we were the…

Wonderful Camping

We stayed in the South Prong Tent Area, not to be confused with the South Prong Primitive area (which you have to hike into).

We stayed on site SU037. There is no tree cover, which is ok if you want that morning sun warmth, but know that if it gets super windy (which apparently happens a lot…

Quick Stop

We only stopped here for a quick stay so I can’t give a complete review of the facilities but they had pull through sites that were level and clean. The train is close so you will hear it at night but it didn’t bother us. The customer service was great! Great quick stop on our way back to N.M.

Great camping with amazing scenery

My son and I spent a night here and it was great! I’d recommend south prong primitive sites. Got to sleep right at the base of the canyon and there was plenty of space between the campsites.

My only problem was that some of the trails were not very well marked. It took us a while to find the…
