We traveled from West Texas, stayed 4 nights, had rain almost every day. The park is well laid out, small clean well maintained yards. The paved road was beginning to break up from all the rain with pot holes and new ones beginning to pop up. The pads are gravel and almost level. A few guests have…

What a beautiful park. Lake front, kayak rentals with a great cove to paddle around in. Walking trails galore. Nice bathrooms, with showers. Flower Mound is a lovely town with any restaurant you could imagine 7-10 miles away
Half of the campground is an equestrian camp. There are great hiking trails and beautiful views. Good shady spots.
We had two kids with us and we loved walking around the campground and seeing all the horses! But remember it will also smell like them so camp on that side at your own risk.
We camp here multiple times every summer. It’s very clean with lots of trees. Decent beach access but it’s texoma so don’t expect too much lol Great fishing set back in the cove and next to the dam.

This place is calm and pleasant during the day. At sundown, the party starts and goes till 2:00am. If you are looking for a quiet evening, this ain’t the place. If you are good with day time activities and loud music at night, join the party. My kids and I will go back simply because it is a clean…

Platter Flats is usually quiet. It's been our favorite campsite for years because of this. We've always been able to find and open spot with a nice view.
Great sites around this lake but if only the area around #9 is open you might want to rethink. Right on top of each other and the picnic tables, fire pits are oddly placed.
RV and tent sites are spacious. Lots of lake access from sites. They also have cabins for rent. The staff is friendly.
Nothing to knock you socks off, but it’s a great campsite close to home and nice for a quick getaway. Has the feel of being somewhat remote since it’s out by the lake.
We’ve camped in the site with the horse stables and put the tents with questionable rain flys in the horse stable.
So many trails, sites on the lake, playgrounds, marina, beautiful lake! If you come here don’t miss out on Tucker’s Tower! Tucker’s tower is a nature center/museum inside lake Murray state park. We’ve stayed here many times and made beautiful memories!

This campground is situated on a peninsula that juts out into Lake Murray. Because of this, there are some great lakeside campsites just steps from the water and no campers on either side of you. The downside is the lakeside campsites are set up on the eastern side of the peninsula and parking is…

Camped at primitive site #6. These are not drive up campsites and none are on the water. The bathrooms are not super close either. But all campsites are shady and clean. We had a picnic table and fire pit. There are a few places to swim, but none of them shaded. Saw lots of paddle boards and kayaks…
Attentive staff. Pleasant breeze. Family friendly. Some RV spots are right by the water. Reserve online. Can’t wait to go back!
Very clean and quite. We are going back next weekend.
A little pricey $42-$50. No laundry and the showers are like old high school showers. Nice grounds and it's right on Lake Lewisville. Staff is friendly. Online won't let you reserve next day. Call for availability.
