We had plenty of space to spread out and relax. Rented a pontoon and saw Hell's gates worth the stop. Spent most of the time swimming and fishing from shore. This is one of the clearer lakes in Texas.
The sites are located close to the water with full-hook ups available. Most spots are gravel but depending on lake level some spots now have grass. The better sites have their own covered picnic tables. Some sites have tree with shade closer spot to the water do not any trees or picnic tables.…

LMWSP has tons of activities for the family. You can spend the day exploring and climbing the rock formations, bring climbing gear if you plan to get to the top. You can also spend your day on the water, swimming on the beach, fishing from a pier or exploring the shoreline by kayak. Primitive,…
We didn't actually camp here. We were camped nearby at Possum Kingdom State Park and came here to check things out. The sites were large, wooded with privacy. Lots of cool trails. Lots of birds around the lake.

We stayed here January 26 -31, 2021 on the first stop of a 3 month escape from Northern Wisconsin winter. I’m guessing it’s great when it’s warm and you have a boat. It was always windy. Concessions store closed for remodeling. Construction on cabin near our site. Nice bathrooms, shower water not…
We arrived around midnight. There was a warm breeze blowing. Big ants strolled nearby but are easily avoidable. The place is right on a lake. The restroom is close by. It was a great experience! Would stay again. We did not see any possums but did see a large female dear grazing.
I've camped at several Texas State Parks recently. They're very nice places to camp at. Restrooms are well kept. Some are free and can stay up to 14 days.
One of my favorite Texas state parks. Ve RT y nice campground on a lake. But do NOT miss the penitentary. Cliffs forming a prison below used during the civil war. Amazing rock structure with rock climbers.
We so enjoyed our stay here! Right on the water and the campgrounds are spaced out enough that you are not right on top of each other. There is a convenience store on site that has most anything you need. There is also a Men’s and Women’s bathrooms with two shower stalls (in the women’s at least) -…
Pretty accessible if you live in Tarrant County for day tripping. Covid restrictions keep us out on our first attempt to visit the park. Our second trip we made reservations for a day pass. We went to hike aloo g rocky cliff side of the lake. The hike is longer than you’d think and less interesting…
We have only used day passes for hiking here since covid19 restrictions took place. Very impressive trails and nice bathrooms. Easy lake access with boat ramp.
This is a nice little park for swimming doing a little tubing, not a hiking park, there’s a trail that’s about a mile and change long. It’s a big lake so if you have a boat you will truly enjoy it. I did not. So swimming and tubing is all I did in the water. The 2011 fire it’s not evident anymore,…

I'm from Texas, and I've never thought, "Let's go to Mineral Wells!". My daughter who lives in Ft. Worth suggested we go the Lake Mineral Wells State Park for a weekend camping get away. We wanted to spend the weekend hiking and hanging out at our campsite. This was the perfect combination.
What can I say? PK State Park is beautiful with full hookups right on the lake. All the facilities you need are here and in good shape. Highly recommend!
We haven’t camped yet, but we’ve kayaked and picnics there. We live it. We’ll be back to camp soon.
