6 Reviews of Barefoot Camp & RV Park
Hidden oasis, Texas

This place is a hidden oasis in the middle of Texas. Spread out sites makes it feel like you’re the only one in the park. If you like quiet, this is the place for you to relax and recharge. You can experience all of Texas’ topography within a days hike; river bends, rain forest, and cactus filled desert. The drive is a little tight, so make sure you, your truck, and your trailer are in sync with one another.

Amazing scenery

This scenery is breathtaking. We have been twice and will go again. The owners are the friendliest people ever and the views are beyond description. The river runs along the park and it’s very close proximity to one of our favorite hikes to Gorman Falls.

Beautiful views -
  • I wouldn’t call it “primitive” camping although spaced out, still close to neighbors. Not as many options for fishing from the camp sites as I had expected, lots of safety patrols, friendly staff, clean sites. Overall a good experience. Will return.
Great family owned spot

We've camped here twice. The family hows owns and manages it is very welcoming and accommodating. The last trip we got flooded in and or tent got flooded out everything was soaked and there was no way out of the park. The owners let us use a washer and dryer to get warm dry clothes and bedding for the kids. RV sites are decent sized, but very close together. There's only a couple grills that get moved around, so we normally bring our own. There's easy access to the Colorado river and great fishing. Overall we love this spot! Major plus is that there's very limited cell reception!

Beautiful RV setting

Barefoot camp has been around for ever and I can see why. It’s on private property and you have to drive about 7 miles down a road with cattle guards. Anything over 24ft take it easy. You can walk to the Colorado River and swim or float. The cliffs are amazing. Very close to Colorado Bend State Park. This is my favorite campsite in Texas so far 🚐

First to Review

This campground is out in the middle of nowhere! it’s very quiet and nice but if you go in the summer be prepared to be hot! Restrooms aren’t close but sites are close to the river for fishing! Colorado bend state park is close by for a day trip and sites are also cheaper here and more readily available than there.
