Peaceful and eerie…

Place was beautiful but the mold in the bathroom was worse then expected for a state park.

Right On The River

Just an overnight stop - we were pleasantly surprised. Our campsite was a pull thru gravel site and it was right on the Mississippi River. We got up in the morning and watched the barges headed up river. The bathrooms are portable trailers - probably so they can be moved when the river rises. …

On the water

Very easy drive off i40. We had a pull thru on the water. Lot 75. It was fabulous. Site underneath a big shade tree. Office put our instructions out side but where there in office to give us instructions. Concrete site was level. All hook-ups worked well. Just and overnight for us but would…

Great views of the Mississippi River

The best thing about this camp ground is watching the tug boats go up and down the Mississippi River. The camper spots were spacious. The facilities could use a little upgrading. On the plus side laundry at this location is free and there are many laundry machines to use. Good spot would recommend.

Amazing views of the Mississippi River

This is a really cool place to sit and watch tugboats go up and down the Mississippi River. The roads around this camp site are a little rough but not too bad. The only down side to this camp ground is that there are very few trash cans dispersed through the camp site.

Walkin in Memphis

This is a beautiful campground. A few shady sights. Beautiful overlook of the Mississippi River. Full hook ups available. Nice office staff. Benches by the River to watch the barges fo by. I would absolutely stay here again, but I would ask for a shady sight. Only negative is that the bathroom is…

Meeman Shelby campground

Decent spot. Lots of sites with water and power hookups. Water at site 9 where we were was very cloudy. Atleast 3 drive into primitive sites. Decent bathrooms with showers. A bit pricey $28 per night. Very friendly staff. The ranger mentioned that they will be closing for renovations soon,…

Best place to stay around the Memphis area

Park was a friendly Oasis along the banks of the Mississippi River. The park is family owned and they take pride in keeping it clean and making sure all campers are happy and well taken care of. The hosts went above and beyond what is expected of a private campground. And a bonus was being able to…

No Privacy

My husband and I chose this campground because it was in our “Best in Tent Camping Tennessee” guidebook. Not my favorite. The sites are extremely close together and there is absolutely no privacy. We chose an ADA site because my husband is a wheelchair user, but the grassy patch next to the…

Primitive sites available

The primitive sites (there are three) are on a separate and I maintained road off of the campsite loop. Spacious sites, but if the weather is wet, it can be a bit iffy getting to them in a low clearance vehicle. That said, facilities and staff were nice.

Beautiful park but...

The road into the campground is a little narrow when meeting someone so keep that in mind. Zero and I mean zero cell signal lol. Not a deal breaker for us but may be for some. Roads inside the campground are adequate. We stayed in site #2 which in the description says it's 46 ft but our 38 ft 5th…
