Great riverside campground

Very nice, but small sites. Full hookups and wifi at a state park, which is nice. Historic area with demonstrations and visitor center. Beautiful hiking trail by the river and riverside sites

Quiet and peaceful campground

This place is great! It was very quiet and clean and peaceful. There was a good amount of space between the different campsites, and the bathrooms were very nice! This was my first time camping, and I'm sure a first trip can make or break it for a lot of campers, but I will definitely be venturing…

Quiet, peaceful, but no water hookup

Very peaceful, not at all crowded, small campground. There's only 18 sites and they're spread out. There is electric hookups but not water. There is a dump station too.

Clean and quiet

Bathrooms were clean, people were friendly and quiet. Reasonably sized sites that were first come, first serve, but we had no problem finding a site on a Friday afternoon. Lots of ranger patrols.

Gorgeous, nestled, gem in the mountains of NC

This place was amazing! We went at a time they were not even charging campers to stay. Me and my son got to enjoy a week of camping after each days work in the area. So good!

Siteup past the stream about 1/10th of a mile maybe?

Clean, Quiet and Scenic

We stopped for just one night but this is a site you'd want to plan for more. The sites are level and a nice distance apart. The trails are nice and the river makes this site ideal. There is a museum and welcome center with information on Davey Crockett and the area along with a playground and lots…

Great Semi-primitive Campground

Tight turns, but manageable with our 40' Fifth Wheel. Relatively level parking. Spacious sites. 20-30-50 amp hookups available. No water on sites but available not far away, with plenty of extra hose, for refilling water tank. Serene Campground with plenty of shade. Bathhouses were clean and in…

Not too shabby

This is a decent campground that definitely caters to the SxS and off road crowd. Sites are relatively level and there is a decent amount of space between them. Backing in is quite easy as there is plenty of room to maneuver. The campground is very quiet but I can imagine it is really hopping over…

Highly Recommend

My family and I stayed here for the weekend. We absolutely love it. We stayed on the river at campsite 20 and 21. The kids were able to get into the water and swim. The dam does release the water around 2pm so be aware that the water will rise. The bath houses are right behind the office where you…

Will be back

Panther Creek was an incredible experience. We loved the campground and it's accessibility to trails. No matter where you camp, your just a short walk from a trailhead that connects to multiple trails. Not to mention the wildlife was great! A raccoon watched us make s'mores from about 20 feet away…

Peace & Quiet

My days beforehand had been spent at Smokemont Campground and Cosby offers a completely different vibe while still camping within the national park’s boundaries.

It was quiet and outdoorsy and definitely did not have the hubbub of Smokemont with campers coming and going all the time.

There are…

Clean, beautiful camp ground with pool & hot tub. Quiet. It was a bit of a squeeze with our 42’ RV.

Beautiful, spotless sites. Quiet and peaceful, surrounded by trees. Bear country- they are very strict about keeping food inaccessible- park rangers will fine up to 1,000 dollars. Enjoyed the local hikes, very close to Appalachian trail.
