Primitive, but very romantic Hideaway in pristine nature, just 1 mile drive-in A small Rustic Camping Cabin for one or two on undeveloped private lands, 100 % surrounded by Black Hills National Forest. Only 1 mile scenic Forest Service Road leads up to the cabin; it is easy access, yet completely hidden from view and noise. Enjoy nature hikes through meadows and Ponderosa Pine forests and up rocky hills to breath taking overlooks. Watch the abundant wild life, come down to the ranch for coffee or tea in the morning while charging your phones, checking out mail or to take care of other necessities, like filling up your fresh drinking water containers and enjoying a refreshing (warm) solar shower. After over 25 years of hosting we will be happy to share our experiences about Must-See or Not-So-Much places in the Hills. Most everything you might require is provided at the camp site, such as a LED light with fan, bedding, chairs, a charcoal grill, some grilling tools and dishes. Including also an additional pop-up tent and up to 2 sleeping bags for groups of more than 2 persons. If there are more people in your group, you might want to bring an additional tent along. Check-in at the main ranch house is between 1 pm and 4 pm FIRM, since we will be busy checking in our other guests after that. Note: AT&T service (only) at and for a few miles around the ranch. Parking directly at the camp site. Black top turn-in at 9.5 miles South of Custer, along the Mickelson Trail at trail marker 34 / 35. Please bring your own food and drink, cooler and ice, if requited. charcoal for the grill and firewood for the campfire pit, which has a griddle as well. There is a campfire coffee pot to heat up water or coffee as well as two 5 gallon containers with drinking water. Custer, 10 miles N has a brand new music venue, The Custer Beacon and a number of good restaurants and so does Hot Springs, 24 miles South through Wind Cave National Park, besides lots of attractions and activity options throughout the Hills.
