Hiking trails, Wildlife and family friendly

Cute family friendly location. Had some issues connecting to the WiFi, but overall, a good spot.

Home base but nothing more

It was quiet and a good home base.

The pool was dirty and my daughter got a chlorine rash from it. They also recently caulked the pool and it was washing off into the pool. Other kids had caulk on theur faces. There are only 2-3 chairs around the pool so bring your own.

We stayed in a medium…

Peaceful

This camp is out of the main stream. Miles down a dirt road. We are in a 35ft Motorhome/ pulling a car - take it slow! There is no dump and they charge for water - there’s a state park close by - dump and fill there - if you out of state it’s an $8.00 day pass charge. But once your here - it’s…

Great stay

This was our home base for our South Dakota trip. The owners and workers keep this place really well. We used the showers, camp store (ice cream and soda), laundry ($2 wash, $1 dry), firewood, and the pool! We really liked the layout of the campground and differing terrain. We were afraid it would…

Awesome place. One of my favorite

Pulmer gulch is a awesome place. There are many things to do. There is a mini golf course, a playground, a Tiny gift shop, and my more. One cool thing is there are big boulders scattered across the campground which kids love to climb on. There is also a pool and water slide that is free to get in.…

Welikit

Great private camp in pines, excellent access to Custer and surrounding areas. Very close to Michelson Trail. Sites are well maintained and provide some privacy.

Great base camp

This place was amazing for our needs. We were tent camping with two young kids. Between its location to the Black Hills, hikes, parks, monuments and on site fun our kids went to bed completely wore out each day. The staff was wonderful and the sites were great. We would highly recommend.

Good, not great campground

The best thing about this campground was the host. He keeps a clean, if primitive, campground and seems genuinely interested in the comfort of the guests. Poor Verizon reception. Clean vault toilets, no sanitizer or hand wash stations tho.

Loved it!

Our spot was one of the doubles and overlooked Deerfield Lake. The host was friendly and the toilet was the cleanest I’ve seen at a campsite. It was our first time staying at Dutchman, and we’ll definitely be back! It’s about a 40 minute drive from Hill City and secluded from any road traffic and…

No electricity

I checked on this campground for our stay and the campground told me there are no electric hookups.  The Dyrt website says there is.  FYI

Excellent family campground with tons of amenities.

This campground is awesome! With views of Black Elk Peak, a 30 minute drive to most attractions near Mt Rushmore, you can’t beat it. The kids loves the pool area, splash park, and mini-golf. Multiple activities each day for the kids to do.
Sites are mostly level and easy in and out, many…
